Introduction/Job Summary 

The Department of Information Systems is hiring College Lecturers beginning January 3rd, 2022. These are permanent positions with a succession path. The target applicant is someone who sees advantages in embracing a long-term non-tenure track academic career

Duties

Teach a variety of Information Systems courses; teach 4 courses per semester at the undergraduate and graduate levels; available to teach on/off campus, online, and day/evening classes.  Other responsibilities included coordination of courses with multiple sections and advising student organizations.

 

Qualifications

Minimum: Master’s in information systems or a closely related field; experience teaching information systems courses at university level; evidence of teaching effectiveness.

 

Preferred: Doctoral degree or “ABD” in Information Systems, or related field, from AACSB or equivalent accredited college by July 1st, 2022; teaching philosophy that promotes student engagement, evidence of excellence in teaching, and effective communication skills; recent scholarly publications; relevant industry experience; ability to contribute to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community through teaching.

Department

The Department currently has ten full-time faculty members and offers coursework at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels.

 

College

The Monte Ahuja College of Business has over 70 full-time faculty members, with an enrollment of over 3,300 students. Its programs are accredited at both the graduate and undergraduate levels by the AACSB. Degrees offered by the College include the DBA, MBA, MLRHR, Master of Accountancy, MCIS-IS, BBA, and a joint MBA-JD.

 

University

Cleveland State University enrolls over 17,000 students. It is located within walking distance of the downtown business and entertainment centers and has strong ties with the business and public sectors in Northeast Ohio.

 

Salary

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Hire is contingent upon the maintenance of existing levels of funding from the State of Ohio. Offer of employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of the University’s verification of credentials (including evidence of a Ph.D.) and other information required by law and/or and/or University policies or practices, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
