Job Overview

The Marketplace Product Manager is responsible for differentiating Shorelight marketplace products in market and growing this product line within the portfolio. He/She/They possess a strong understanding of non-academic products and services and the value proposition of these for an international student. The Marketplace Product Manager is a skilled team player who collaborates cross-departmentally with key members of the global marketing, analytics, recruitment, and implementation teams, and will coordinate and execute o strategies for new and existing products with the goal of increasing student participation in the Shorelight Marketplace.  He/She/They is responsible for data quality, reporting on key success metrics against plans, and setting up and reporting on feedback loops from students, recruitment, and channel partners.  This role reports to the General Manager, Shorelight Marketplace

 

The Marketplace Product Manager is a strategic thinker and problem solver with strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.  He/She/They has outstanding oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate and collaborate with people from a wide variety of cultures and linguistic backgrounds.  The Marketplace Product Manager is a self-starter driven toward results, can work independently, and takes initiative.  He/She/They is comfortable multitasking, changing priorities to fit business needs, and manages time efficiently. 

 

Essential Functions

Product Optimization and Promotion

  • Work with the global Shorelight marketing team and the General Manager, Shorelight Marketplace to plan and execute the annual marketing strategy for Shorelight products and services
  • Develop and execute strategies that highlight international students’ experiences with the Marketplace to promote through a variety of channels
  • Act as the primary point of contact and work directly with vendors and Shorelight marketing team to access existing high-quality content
  • Establish reporting and analysis on utilization rates and customer retention for marketplace products and services
  • Contribute to product pricing analysis and strategy
  • Help to gather and manage customer insights to inform product optimization and new product roadmap
  • Lead trainings on new marketplace products and services for various stakeholders

 

Data and Content Management

  • Manage the inventory of dates and prices for available products through our inventory management system
  • Contribute to annual toolkit updates for non-degree products and services
  • Manage the data and content for the growing set of non-degree products and services available in the Shorelight Marketplace
  • Analyze market data to optimize product positioning and promotion
  • Help to develop go-to-market plans and generate cross-departmental support and stakeholder engagement for new products and services

 

Relationship Management

  • Optimize and maintain Spark intranet presence and strategy for all non-degree content
  • Build tools to foster marketplace engagement among internal stakeholders, such as managing the weekly Marketplace newsletter
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in Marketing on all aspects of content creation and promotion
  • Establish communication tools to share updates with global teams
  • Partner with GM, Marketplace to review key success metrics that inform annual strategy

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, business, or education setting
  • Team player who exhibits a consistently positive attitude and willingness to get things done
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, present, and interface with all levels of staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, self-manage, and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to see the “big picture” and think outside the box
  • Ability to travel as needed to Shorelight university partner campuses 
  • Eligibility to work in and travel freely to and from the United States without sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated success with launching new products in international market
  • Experience in the international higher education space
