Job Overview
The Studio Manager will act as technical lead for the Stanford and UC Berkeley Live production environment. The Studio Manager will produce, direct, facilitate and support all Live course offerings and other related productions and serve as a live support resource for presenters during all broadcasts. Based remotely in California, she, he or they will collaborate with Shorelight staff, partners, contractors, and vendors, to ensure full functionality of hardware, software, audio/visual equipment, and curriculum.
Essential Functions
Technical Support
- Manage software and hardware deployments, implementing patches and performing other maintenance
- Troubleshoot and resolution of audio/visual technical issues
- Manage the broadcast platform and preform administrative tasks for production readiness
- Support live productions, including various production roles as needed
Program Management
- Work with instructional design to ensure content is up to date (knowledge of LMS, ability to work with faculty)
- Train faculty and staff in the usage of the studio environment
- Manage the timing and loading of curricula, and the updating of lesson plans in coordination with instructional design team and faculty
- Interact with operational personnel before, during, and after events
Course Host Support
- Appear as an on-camera host for demos and orientations as needed
- Provide on-camera support for faculty and presenters in “co-host” role
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS and 3+ years relevant work experience
- Experience with higher education instruction
- Ability to travel to both the Berkeley and Stanford Campuses
- Comfortable with working unconventional hours including evenings and weekends
- Familiarity with the principles and basic technologies of live video broadcasting
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Teaching, presenting, public speaking
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and creative-thinking abilities
- Eligible to work and travel in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience hosting live events
- Familiarity with A/V and video conferencing hardware and software
- Comfort with on-camera/ ad-lib/ improvisation during live events
