Job Overview

The Assistant Recruitment Manager, Student Recruitment, assists in executing a student recruitment strategy across Rest of East Asia (Malaysia, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei) that targets international students seeking U.S. university degrees. The role includes account management of Shorelight’s regional network of recruiters, schools, and universities, along with building and managing direct-to-student marketing campaigns that drive enrollments to Shorelight’s university partners. This role is based in Bangkok, Thailand, reporting to Regional Director, Rest of East Asia.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Shorelight’s university partners’ student recruitment strategies, partnering with the Recruitment Manager, REA as well as Shorelight’s Marketing Team for all marketing and advertising strategies and collateral
  • Help manage key channel accounts and partnerships to achieve enrollment targets for all university partnerships
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends, and reporting on all phases of recruitment process to the Recruitment Manager, Rest of East Asia, using technology systems
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Travel extensively to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners, and other external institutions and vendors
  • Execute efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of the recruitment process (inquiry, application, assessment, offer, acceptance, visa applications, orientation, etc.) with a strong focus on conversion of inquiries to applications
  • Work effectively with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry into the school or program (working with finance offices on incoming deposits, tracking of payments, processing of agent contracts and commissions, as necessary; assisting incoming students with form completion; coordinating arrival transportation for new, incoming students; etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 3+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in Thailand or Malaysia
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient
  • Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the team

Job Overview

The Enrollment Services Manager leads and executes our pre-arrival conversion activities in the North Asia and Southeast Asia regions.  Based in region, the Enrollment Services Manager works as part of a highly motivated professional team and is responsible for regional visa success, overall conversion, pre-arrival completion and arrival of new students on campus. The Enrollment Services Manager leads the regional-based Enrollment Services Advisors to support agents, prospective international students, and their families with the application, financial, visa, and pre-arrival processes to our partner universities and surrounding communities.

This position works closely with regional Recruitment Managers, admission and marketing, and Shorelight’s partner campus teams to provide student-focused, optimal learning experiences and services that lead to student success.  Measures of success for this role include the ability to drive conversion from deposit to enrollment, high rate of pre-payment, high rate of visa issuance, and on-time arrival to campuses. The position directly reports to the Director of Enrollment Services.

Essential Functions:

 I-20 and Visa Preparation

  • Collaborate closely with admissions, agents and recruitment for all confirmed students to ensure efficient completion of required documents to achieve I-20s for students
  • Provide a comprehensive visa preparation service to students and agents including regular presentations to agencies, sharing of tips and best practices, and mock interviews with students to achieve high visa issuance rates
  • Track and analyze visa appointments, embassy processing times and student interview feedback to continuously enhance and adapt visa preparation according to current trends and insights

Team Leadership

  • Lead and execute the North Asia and Southeast Asia Enrollment Services strategy and plan that drives a culture of data-driven conversion efforts and concierge service across the enrollment funnel.
  • Liaison with colleagues from various departments, including headquarters, IT, admissions, marketing, recruitment and campus teams, to drive technical improvement and facilitate resources  
  • Manage regional Enrollment Services staff and day-to-day service operations, including tracking performance and promoting continuous training to the regional ES team and effectively managing workflow as determined by enrollment cycles. 
  • Collaborate closely with admissions, agents and recruitment for all confirmed students to ensure efficient completion of required documents to achieve I-20s for students
  • Lead the onboarding and training of new enrollment services staff and provide enrollment services training to new recruitment team members in collaboration with the regional recruitment team
  • Act as key contact for the campus student services teams post arrival to help the regional teams communicate with channel partners/parents to assist with any follow-on activities post enrollment (i.e. student attendance, performance etc.)  

Pre-Departure Process and Stakeholder / Student Family Engagement & Management

  • Maintain a database of assigned students to convert and track their status and progress toward arrival
  • Design, manage and facilitate an engaging and informative pre-departure concierge service for students, parents and agencies
  • Participate with the planning and implementation of pre-departure events (online and offline)
  • Ensure students within the regional pipeline are meeting financial obligations and completing the required pre-arrival tasks and documentation prior to arrival to ensure a smooth enrollment, achieving 90% pre-payment
  • Apply a methodological approach to conversion and pre-arrival activities and engage in a variety of proactive activities to ensure students progress through the conversion process
  • Build a strong rapport with key channel partners, partner campus teams, admissions and any other key stakeholders
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of current programs, products, processes, and policies
  • Demonstrate expertise in all steps of the admissions process

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Provide key partner’s VIP service, including customized reports, regular update of student progress, and in agent office visits
  • Analyze data in order to provide ongoing weekly updates, reports and forecasts to the Associate Director of Enrollment Services and the Regional team for all students
  • Be the point of information and clarity on all conversion activities and student status
  • Maintain a database of respective regional students to track their status and progression to enrollment

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 5+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry
  • Proficiency in writing and speaking English
  • Experience managing/leading a team
  • Proven ability to multi-task, balance priorities, set and manage timelines for deliverables with minimal supervision
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model

The Program Coordinator supports the Shorelight Live American Collegiate Program, which provides first year, US curriculum to students in their home countries in partnership with US universities.  The Live technology offers hybrid higher education programs that combine the immersive U.S. university experience with technology-enabled, in-country, live-lecture learning.  The position will facilitate live classes through the operation of interactive technology, coordination across remote program management teams, and develop and support student services.

This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand.

Essential Functions

Operations

  • Audit live lecture sessions and facilitate classroom activities
  • Coordinate with local operations team to provide technical support during live lectures
  • Prepare classroom materials as instructed by academic team
  • Participate in recruitment demo preparation, testing, and setup, and facilitate day of demo operations as needed
  • Participate in technology testing as necessary

Shorelight is looking for a General Manager (GM) to grow, expand, and scale our business in assigned markets.  The GM is a proven entrepreneurial strategic international leader driving student acquisition. Reporting to the COO, the GM provides leadership, consultation, expertise and line-manages Shorelight’s regional recruitment team and leads high-level account development and management of key channel partners. The GM drives and ultimately ensures the execution of a channel agnostic recruitment strategy across the region and multiple channels to maximize students’ opportunities and Shorelight’s revenue across its portfolio of partner universities. Essential Functions

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Growing the business:
    • Provide leadership, consultation, and expertise on special projects within the organization and ensure that assigned regions are positioned properly around all business, operational, and student acquisition strategies.  
    • Provide strategic leadership and support to assigned markets to achieve short term success and long-term growth strategies.
    • Responsible for growing our presence in assigned markets and ensuring that SL initiatives are fully integrated to deliver strong results.

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a central role in linking Shorelight’s global human resources strategy to local business with the goal of supporting our small but rapidly expanding staff in the Southeast and North Asia regions (Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Japan). This individual liaises between his or her region and global Human Resources to assess needs and deliver services such as employee recruitment, performance management, compensation, compliance, employee benefits, and payroll and talent management. Essential Functions

Business Partnership

  • Develop in-depth understanding of the region to translate strategic and tactical business plans into talent-oriented plans
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and implement HR and recruitment strategies to support business initiatives and deliver results
  • Provide support in a strategic and value-added manner in areas that impact the attraction, development, and retention of talent
  • Develop and foster relationships at all levels within the region; serve as a trusted advisor to all region staff

Talent Management

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for the region, in partnership with Talent Acquisition

Employee Relations

  • Work with managers and employees throughout the region to coach, facilitate problem solving, and develop employee relations practices that contribute to and enhance workplace culture, fostering a positive environment
  • Provide counsel and ensure prompt resolution of all legal-related matters, ensuring that appropriate parties are consulted throughout the process
  • Provide support for all talent-related activities in the region, including in-country support when needed

  • Collect and analyze internal and external data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and employee experience

Other Duties

  • Prepare monthly payroll for the region in conjunction with the Finance department in HQ

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field
  • 7+ years’ combined experience in recruitment and business partnership
  • Working knowledge of core HR functional areas, including compensation, talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance
  • Experience developing and delivering customer-focused HR services and programs in a global company
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in communicating changes within the organization and coaching team members and managers to help them navigate change
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships throughout an organization despite geographic and time zone challenges
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems

Job Overview

The Office and Events Coordinator assists in executing a student recruitment strategy in South East Asia, targeted at international students seeking a U.S. university degree. Reporting to the South East Asia Product Marketing Manager, this individual will support business development initiatives as well as provide administrative support and office management assistance.

 

Essential Functions

  • Provide administrative support for Bangkok office, including travel organization for visitors, correspondence, office maintenance, and filing
  • Work with Product Marketing manager to coordinate events, including product launches, agent events, parent/campus director events, and team activities
  • Support Enrollment Services Officer for pre-arrival activities during the peak season
  • Implement agent-related issues such as commission approvals, invoices, etc.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations, meeting materials, research, and other projects as required
  • Liaise with third-party logistics partner and Ministry of Labour Office regarding foreign employees’ visas/work permits and related requirements, as needed
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to corporate office and manager
  • Maintain and manage purchasing of office supplies, stationery, IT devices, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Thai
  • Well-developed organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience in overall office management in an international environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Office relocation experience (vendor management)
  • Tertiary educated

Preferred Qualifications

Job Overview

Shorelight Education is seeking to hire a Product Sales Specialist or Manager (depending on experience) to execute a student recruitment strategy across South East and North Asia targeted at international students seeking a US university degree.  The Product Sales position, reporting directly to the Executive Director of Recruitment, will work across all channels to maximize the recruitment efforts in the regions for a specific set of Shorelight partner universities. The Product Sales role is a combination of sales and marketing and will work closely with Shorelight’s in market recruitment teams as well as Shorelight’s marketing and campus-based teams. The product sales role will be approximately 70% sales and 30% marketing and engagement with the campus-based teams.

Shorelight defines the regions as follows:

South East Asia: Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore

North Asia: South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Macau

The base location for this role is Bangkok, Thailand

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Work across all channels within South East and North Asia to achieve targets for a specific set of partner universities and programs
  • Contribute to, and execute on, Shorelight university partner’s broader student recruitment strategies
  • Develop and execute a product specific recruitment plan across the regions in conjunction with Shorelight regional recruitment and campus teams
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends and reporting on all phases of recruitment process to the regional director(s), executive director, campus managing directors and product management team
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Work closely with the regional recruitment teams to ensure all Shorelight recruitment staff members and our partners are trained on the relevant products
  • Delivering counselor training to Shorelight partners in the region as needed
  • Travel extensively across the regions to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, exhibitions and training events. Build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners and other external institutions and vendors
  • Work closely with regional recruitment teams and US based product/campus teams to execute new product launches in market
  • Accountable for providing first hand feedback to the US based product/campus teams on market conditions, recruitment activities, marketing campaigns and suggestions for further product optimization
  • Execute an efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of the recruitment process (inquiry, application, assessment, offer, acceptance, visa applications, orientation, etc.) with strong focus on conversion of inquiries to applications to offers to enrollments
  • Work effectively with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry into the school or program
  • Work closely with campus teams to ensure student feedback, testimonials and future alumni events are in place
  • Work with relevant campus teams on FAM trips involving partners from the regions
  • Manage the student ambassador programs for current students to return to their home country during breaks and attend events focused on prospective students or parents
  • Assist regional recruitment teams in organizing and delivering pre-departure events

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, strong drive for results, pressure-resilient
  • Proficiency with CRM technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a team based customer service ethic
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Asia and to the US is required
  • Beneficial to have existing network and relationships within the education industry across South East and North Asia and a strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs and products
  • Experience in organizing pre-departure events and product launches
  • Local language proficiency would be advantageous
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • Fluency in English is a must
