Job Overview 

Shorelight Education is seeking to hire a Product Sales Specialist to execute a student recruitment strategy across China targeted at international students seeking a US university degree.  The Product Sales position, reporting directly to the Senior Product Sales Manager China, will work across all channels to maximize the recruitment efforts in the China for a specific set of Shorelight partner universities.  The Product Sales role is a combination of sales and marketing and will work closely with Shorelight’s in market recruitment teams and partners as well as Shorelight’s marketing and campus based teams. The product sales role will be approximately 80% sales/product management and 20% marketing. 

Key Responsibilities 

The responsibilities of this position include: 

  

  • Work across all channels within China to achieve specific targets for a specific set of products
  • Contribute to, and execute on, Shorelight university partner’s broader student recruitment strategies
  • Develop and execute a product specific recruitment plan across China in conjunction with Shorelight regional recruitment and campus teams
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends and reporting on all phases of recruitment process to the regional director and campus managing directors and product management team
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Work closely with the regional recruitment teams to ensure all Shorelight recruitment staff members and our partners are trained on the relevant products
  • work closely with sales and product team, to deliver counsellor training to Shorelight partners in the region as needed
  • Travel extensively to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, exhibitions and training events.  Build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners and other external institutions and vendors
  • Work closely with regional recruitment teams and US based product/campus teams to execute new product launches in market
  • Accountable for providing first hand feedback to the US based product/campus teams on market conditions, recruitment activities, marketing campaigns and suggestions for further product optimization
  • Execute an efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of the recruitment process (inquiry, application, assessment, offer, acceptance, visa applications, orientation, etc.) with strong focus on conversion of inquiries to applications to offers to enrolments
  • Work effectively with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry into the school or program
  • Assist regional recruitment teams in organizing and delivering pre-departure events
  • Other ad-hoc assignments

Qualifications

Job Overview

Shorelight is seeking a proven entrepreneurial and strategic international leader for the position of General Manager, China. The General Manager’s (“GM”) role is to grow, expand, and scale our business in assigned markets. The GM provides leadership, consultation, and expertise and line-manages Shorelight’s regional recruitment team in region and leads high-level account development and management of key channel partners. Essential Functions

Regional Strategy & Operations

  • Develop and lead the execution of regional revenue growth strategy across channels, products, and subregions to support Shorelight’s growth goals
  • Lead local leadership to develop multisector approach that leverages regional resources
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and expertise on special projects within the organization and ensure that assigned regions are positioned properly around all business, operational, and student acquisition strategies

Essential Functions

Admissions Data Management & Integrity

  • Receive applications and documents from students/agents

  • Advise agents/students/internal team members on admissions requirements; provide support to enable completion of application

Minimum Qualifications

Job Overview

The Business Development Manager for North China will be responsible for execution of an important element of the regional growth strategy, focusing on the regional new channels development, and recovery/expansion of B2B sub-agent network in the region. The role also supports to explore local market demand and drive the exisiting program optimization and localization, to build network and partnership with local high schools and universities partnership,  driving new business opportunities. The role will be assigned a portfolio of B2B sub-channels and new channel partners to manage and develop towards achievement of an expected revenue target, and the work will require significant cooperation with Regional Recruitment, Product and national Marketing teams to reach the desired level of short term and long-term, consistent channel partner productivity.

 

This position is based in Beijing and reports directly to the Assosicate Director of Business Development for China.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design of the regional business development growth strategy, and lead on its execution and successful delivery 
  • Lead the initial approach to new channel/partner, then following an agreed engagement process, in collaboration with regional recruitment team, pitch and negotiate through to contract and a sales goal.
  • Ongoing relationship management and maintaining of the new partnerships post-contract.
  • Build relationships with both active and inactive sub-agents within the assigned account portfolio with the aim of raising portfolio-wide levels of performance and provide accurate and timely performance forecasts and introduce tactics to address challenges and any barriers to achievement of target.

  • Attend and deliver training sessions, information sessions and other similar events to drive and support channel partner performance (will require travel across the assigned region, which will vary based on the season and period within the recruitment cycle)

The Assistant Recruitment Manager, Student Recruitment, assists in executing a student recruitment strategy across North China that targets international students seeking U.S. university degrees. The role includes account management of Shorelight’s regional network of recruiters, schools, and universities, along with building and managing direct-to-student marketing campaigns that drive enrollments to Shorelight’s university partners.

 

Essential Functions

  • Execute Shorelight’s university partners’ student recruitment strategies, partnering with the Recruitment Manager as well as Shorelight’s Global Marketing Team for all marketing and advertising strategies and collateral
  • Help manage key channel accounts and partnerships to achieve enrollment targets for all university partnerships
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends, and reporting on all phases of recruitment process to the Recruitment Manager, using technology systems
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Travel extensively to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners, and other external institutions and vendors
  • Execute efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of the recruitment process (inquiry, application, assessment, offer, acceptance, visa applications, orientation, etc.) with a strong focus on conversion of inquiries to applications
  • Work effectively with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry into the school or program (working with finance offices on incoming deposits, tracking of payments, processing of agent contracts and commissions, as necessary; assisting incoming students with form completion; coordinating arrival transportation for new, incoming students; etc.)

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • Proficient in English, Native in Chinese
  • 3+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in West & South China
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the work team
  • Willingness to travel
  • Eligibility to work in the hiring location without sponsorship

  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient
  • Existing network and relationships within the education industry in West & South China; strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs, and products; and US higher education are all pluses

Job Overview

The Program Coordinator supports the Shorelight Live American Collegiate Program, which provides first year, US curriculum to students in their home countries in partnership with US universities.  The Live technology offers hybrid higher education programs that combine the immersive U.S. university experience with technology-enabled, in-country, live-lecture learning.  The position will facilitate live classes through the operation of interactive technology, coordination across remote program management teams, and develop and support student services.

Essential Functions

Operations

  • Audit live lecture sessions and facilitate classroom activities
  • Coordinate with local operations team to provide technical support during live lectures
  • Prepare classroom materials as instructed by academic team
  • Participate in recruitment demo preparation, testing, and setup, and fasciliate day of demo operations as needed
  • Participate in technology testing as necessary
  • Contribute to student services operations to ensure that systems and proecedures are followed and technology is used to sreamline system and procedures
  • Troubleshoot student learning experience issues in real time during live lectures. Escalate and follow through to resolution as necessary
  • Occassionally participate in the student services and operational build of new programs
  • Provide support to the studio team with operations, case escalation, and student communication

Student Services & Relationship Management

  • Deliver exceptional students services, beginning with pre-arrival processes and communication, orientation programming, ongoing students service support, and acculturation into the US University culture
  • Manage student success by actively monitoring student engagement and providing feedback to program teams
  • Foster community-building among students by organizing and executing activities and events both online and in person
  • Manage relationships with faculty, academic teams, and engineering to ensure the success of all live lectures
  • Provide other student services as needed
  • Guide, prepare, and motivate students to a successful completion of AC Live
  • Provide language support as necessary during live lectures
  • Manage communication to students about program preparation, changes to schedule, and technology updates

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual Mandarin and English speaker, with professional proficiency in English required (preferably IELTS 7.0, TOEFL 90+)
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of full-time work experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours, depending on class and demo schedule
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in higher education advising, student services, customer service, or hospitality
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills to work with students, parents, program staff, and faculty
  • Energetic and motivated professional with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Eligibility to work in China without sponsorship

  • Experience in education industry
  • Experience using or or supporting classroom or office technology
  • Experience with distance or online learning is preferred
