Job Overview

Shorelight is seeking to hire a Recruitment Manager to execute a student recruitment strategy across North China targeted at international students seeking a US university degree.  The role includes account management of Shorelight’s country or regional network of recruiters, schools, and universities along with building and managing direct-to-student marketing campaigns that drive enrollments to Shorelight’s university partners.

 

This position is based in Beijing, and directly reports to the Senior Director, Student Recruitment, China & North Asia.

 

Essential Functions

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Executing Shorelight’s university partner’s student recruitment strategies, partnering with Shorelight’s Global Marketing Team for all marketing and advertising strategies and collateral
  • Managing key channel accounts and partnerships to achieve enrollment targets for all university partnerships
  • Maintaining a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends, and reporting on all phases of the recruitment process to Regional Directors, using technology systems
  • Maintaining maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Traveling extensively to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events in order to build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners, and other external institutions and vendors
  • Executing on efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of the recruitment process (inquiry, application, assessment, offer, acceptance, visa applications, orientation, etc.) with strong focus on conversion of inquiries to applications
  • Working effectively with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry into the school or program (working with finance offices on incoming deposits, tracking of payments, processing of agent contracts and commissions, as necessary; assisting incoming students with form completion; coordinating arrival transportation for new, incoming students; etc.)

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in mainland of North China
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with a strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient
  • Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the work team
  • Willingness to travel
  • Existing network and relationships within the education industry in North China, and strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs and products, are pluses
  • Eligibility to work in the hiring location without sponsorship

Job Overview

The Enrollment Services Manager leads and executes our pre-arrival conversion activities in the China region.  Based in Beijing, the Enrollment Services Manager works as part of a highly motivated professional team and is responsible for regional visa success, overall conversion, pre-arrival completion and arrival of new students on campus. The Enrollment Services Manager leads the regional-based Enrollment Services Advisors to support agents, prospective international students, and their families with the application, financial, visa, and pre-arrival processes to our partner universities and surrounding communities.

 

This position works closely with regional Recruitment Managers, admission and marketing/D2C teams, and Shorelight’s partner campus teams to provide student-focused, optimal learning experiences and services that lead to student success.  Measures of success for this role include the ability to drive conversion from deposit to enrollment, high rate of pre-payment, high rate of visa issuance, and on-time arrival to campuses. The position directly reports to the Director of Enrollment Services.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

The responsibilities of this position include:

 

  • I-20 and Visa Preparation
    • Collaborate closely with admissions, agents and recruitment for all confirmed students to ensure efficient completion of required documents to achieve I-20s for students
    • Provide a comprehensive visa preparation service to students and agents including regular presentations to agencies, sharing of tips and best practices, and mock interviews with students to achieve high visa issuance rates
    • Track and analyze visa appointments, embassy processing times and student interview feedback to continuously enhance and adapt visa preparation according to current trends and insights

 

  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and execute the China Enrollment Services strategy and plan that drives a culture of data-driven conversion efforts and concierge service across the enrollment funnel.
    • Liaison with colleagues from various departments, including headquarters, IT, admissions, marketing, recruitment and campus teams, to drive technical improvement and facilitate resources  
    • Manage regional Enrollment Services staff and day-to-day service operations, including tracking performance and promoting continuous training to the regional ES team and effectively managing workflow as determined by enrollment cycles. 
    • Collaborate closely with admissions, agents and recruitment for all confirmed students to ensure efficient completion of required documents to achieve I-20s for students
    • Lead the onboarding and training of new enrollment services staff and provide enrollment services training to new recruitment team members in collaboration with the regional recruitment team
    • Act as key contact for the campus student services teams post arrival to help the regional teams communicate with channel partners/parents to assist with any follow-on activities post enrollment (i.e. student attendance, performance etc.)  

 

  • Pre-Departure Process and Stakeholder / Student Family Engagement & Management
    • Design, manage and facilitate an engaging and informative pre-departure concierge service for students, parents and agencies
    • Participate with the planning and implementation of pre-departure events (online and offline)
    • Ensure students within the regional pipeline are meeting financial obligations and completing the required pre-arrival tasks and documentation prior to arrival to ensure a smooth enrollment
    • Apply a methodological approach to conversion and pre-arrival activities and engage in a variety of proactive activities to ensure students progress through the conversion process
    • Build a strong rapport with key channel partners, partner campus teams, admissions and any other key stakeholders
    • Maintain a high level of knowledge of current programs, products, processes, and policies
    • Demonstrate expertise in all steps of the admissions process

 

  • Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Provide key partner’s VIP service, including customized reports, regular update of student progress, and in agent office visits
    • Analyze data in order to provide ongoing weekly updates, reports and forecasts to the Associate Director of Enrollment Services and the Regional team for all students
    • Be the point of information and clarity on all conversion activities and student status
    • Maintain a database of respective regional students to track their status and progression to enrollment

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 5+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry
  • Proficiency in writing and speaking English and Mandarin Chinese
  • Experience managing/leading a team
  • Proven ability to multi-task, balance priorities, set and manage timelines for deliverables with minimal supervision

Job Overview

The Business Development Manager for North China will be responsible for execution of an important element of the regional growth strategy, focusing on the cultivation of inactive recruitment channels, and expansion and performance management of the sub-agent network.  The role will be assigned a portfolio of channel partners to manage and develop towards achievement of an expected revenue target, and the work will require significant cooperation with Marketing and Training teams to reach the desired level of long-term, consistent channel partner productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account manage an assigned portfolio of channel partners across the North China region (precise account portfolio may be subject to minor changes throughout the financial year) to build influence and loyalty, reduce levels of inactivity and encourage long-term, consistent performance towards expectations.  Account portfolio will include a range of channel partners, from small-sized operations to the local/regional branches of major national agents.
  • Contribute to the design of the regional business development growth strategy, and lead on its execution and successful delivery 
  • Monitor performance levels of channel partners within assigned account portfolio, provide accurate and timely performance forecasts and introduce tactics to address challenges and any barriers to achievement of target
  • Build relationships with both active and inactive sub-agents within the assigned account portfolio with the aim of raising portfolio-wide levels of performance

Job Overview

The Regional Director, Sales and Marketing, develops and executes a multichannel revenue and growth strategy across China for Shorelight Live.

Shorelight Live is a high-growth, independent division of Shorelight serving international students, institutions, and governments through a cutting-edge, classroom-based, Live instruction platform developed by Shorelight. Shorelight Live offers elite U.S. degree-bound and Executive Education programs through partnerships with local Global Study Center host institutions.

The Regional Director role includes line management of Shorelight Live recruitment managers, multichannel marketing, and business development in the region as well as high-level account management of Global Study Center hosts. This individual drives and executes the revenue strategy across the region and multiple channels to maximize student opportunities and revenue across Shorelight Live’s portfolio of degree and certificate programs.

This position can be based in any tier one city in China and directly reports to the Vice President, International Development.


Essential Functions

Regional Strategy/Operations 

  • Develop and lead the execution of regional revenue growth strategy across agent and direct channels, products, and geographical subregions
  • Plan and manage regional budget, including target setting, travel and expense, scholarships/discounts, marketing, and channel partner incentives
  • Manage commercial relationships with Global Study Center hosts across China
  • Work closely with Boston HQ to deliver critical feedback on new products, universities, and programs
  • Maintain high levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence

Channel Sales Development/Management

Direct and Corporate Sales Development/Management

  • Seek sales opportunities via industry bodies and specific employers in key degree and certificate specializations
  • Develop industry relationships for use at recruitment events, for internship opportunities, and for outplacement assistance for Live degree graduates
  • Define and manage integrated direct sales campaigns, including demand generation, online and offline engagement, CRM integration, pre- and post-sale processes, and activity management

Team Management

  • Develop the team structure for the region to leverage staff strengths and recruitment opportunities

Portfolio Sales Pipeline Management 

  • Manage student demand generation and lead captures; execute against targets across each Shorelight Live partner
  • Develop and ensure the execution of campaigns that enable the successful launch of new programs to the region; adjust as needed to drive target achievement
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitor enrollment trends, and use technology systems and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective channel partners, sponsorship bodies, and Shorelight recruitment staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 8+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry or a similarly structured industry
  • 5+ years of direct line management experience
  • Strong sales and account management skills

Based in either Beijing or Shanghai, the Talent Acquisition Partner is responsible for providing full lifecycle recruitment for Shorelight’s offices in China, as well as also supporting recruitment in other regional markets as needed.  The successful candidate will be expected to provide the highest quality of service to hiring managers and candidates, while guiding all parties through the recruitment process.  Reporting to the Director of Talent Management, the Talent Acquisition Partner identifies, sources and screens top talent to join Shorelight’s rapidly growing global education business.  They will be working in concert with the HR team in China.

Essential Functions

Sourcing and Screening Candidates

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify their needs and understand their team dynamic with the aim of finding candidates who not only have the experience to be successful in the role, but the competencies necessary to mesh with Shorelight’s culture
  • Develop recruiting strategies for all open positions
  • Oversee job creation and posting within Jobvite, Shorelight’s applicant tracking system
  • Leverage recruitment resources such as the Shorelight website, social media, job boards and their own personal network to identify and recruit candidates
  • Develop and implement new cost-effective sourcing strategies to deliver recruiting results
  • Review resumes and credentials in relation to position requirements
  • Prescreen candidates and present detailed summaries to hiring managers and other stakeholders

Recruitment Process

  • Manage relationships with hiring managers and other internal stakeholders as well as candidates throughout the recruiting and selection process
  • Communicate fully and professionally with candidates throughout the process, so that they are apprised of their status and have clear expectations as to next steps
  • Conduct reference checks and partner with other Human Resources staff to generate offer letters
  • Educate internal stakeholders on Shorelight’s hiring process, making sure everyone follows the appropriate protocol
  • Keeping apprised of company initiatives and growth, think proactively about Talent Acquisition, continually looking for ways they can improve and build upon the function

  • Localize the collateral that reflect each university’s brand including writing copy, producing print banners, and localize training documents, and videos to educate parents, students, feeder schools and agents about programs
  • Ensure all channel marketing materials are properly customized and localized including translation, attention to cultural sensitivities.
  • Support with localized channel collateral planning, quality control, and production
  • Upload and maintain China localized materials folders in Sharepoint and the agent portal

Job Overview

Shorelight Education is seeking to hire a Recruitment Manager (RM) to lead a student recruitment strategy across China targeted at students seeking a US post-graduate university degree or graduate or professional certificate program.  The students will be enrolling to take all or part of their degree/program at a Shorelight LIVE Global Study Center (GSC) located at one of a number of leading Chinese universities (eg Shanghai Jiao Tong University) or professional training institutions (eg New Oriental).  The Recruitment Manager will report directly to the Senior Regional Director, Greater China.  The person will maximize student tuition revenue through account management of Shorelight’s country and regional network recruiters (Agents), universities, GCS host partners, along with building and managing direct-to-student marketing campaigns that drive enrollments to Shorelight LIVE Global Study Center run programs.

 

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include:

 

  • In collaboration with China Recruitment Managers, manage key channel accounts (especially the host partners of the Global Study Centers) and partnerships in China to achieve enrollment targets for Shorelight LIVE programs (eg University of Massachusetts master’s degree programs)
  • Contribute to, and execute on, Shorelight LIVE university partner’s student recruitment strategies
  • Organizing mock-classroom demos over the LIVE platform for channel partners and US content partners
  • Be the Shorelight LIVE internal evangelist across Chinese sales and marketing organizations, lead and execute LIVE program new product launch.
  • Work effectively with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry into the school or program, maintain regular contact communication with live program campus/HQ team to make sure market needs to be heard and supported
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends and reporting on all phases of recruitment process to the Senior Regional Director, Greater China utilizing technology systems
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Travel extensively to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings and training events.  Build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners and other external institutions and vendors
  • Work closely with regional recruitment, admissions, enrolment services and campus teams to ensure an efficient and streamlined LIVE recruitment process
  • Partner with Regional Managers to ensure the process of LIVE program contract, commissions, bonuses and training are designed and implemented.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in China
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, strong drive for results, pressure-resilient
  • Proficiency with CRM technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a team based customer service ethic
  • Willingness and ability to travel both throughout China and the USA as required
  • Beneficial to have existing network and relationships within the education industry across China, strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs and products – especially in the online degrees and certificates sector
  • Experience in organizing pre- departure events and product launches

  • Local language proficiency would be advantageous

Shorelight Education is seeking to hire a Recruitment Manager to execute a student recruitment strategy across North China targeted at international students seeking a US or UK university degree.  The role includes account management of Shorelight’s country or regional network of recruiters, schools, and universities along with building and managing direct-to-student marketing campaigns that drive enrollments to Shorelight’s university partners.

 

This position is based in Beijing, and directly reports to the Senior Director, Student Recruitment, China & North Asia.

 

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Executing Shorelight’s university partner’s student recruitment strategies, partnering with Shorelight’s Global Marketing Team for all marketing and advertising strategies and collateral
  • Managing key channel accounts and partnerships to achieve enrollment targets for all university partnerships
  • Maintaining a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends, and reporting on all phases of the recruitment process to Regional Directors, using technology systems
  • Maintaining maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Traveling extensively to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events in order to build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners, and other external institutions and vendors
  • Executing on efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of the recruitment process (inquiry, application, assessment, offer, acceptance, visa applications, orientation, etc.) with strong focus on conversion of inquiries to applications
  • Working effectively with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry into the school or program (working with finance offices on incoming deposits, tracking of payments, processing of agent contracts and commissions, as necessary; assisting incoming students with form completion; coordinating arrival transportation for new, incoming students; etc.)

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in mainland of North China
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with a strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient
  • Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the work team
  • Willingness to travel
  • Existing network and relationships within the education industry in North China, and strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs and products, are pluses
  • Eligibility to work in the hiring location without sponsorship
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • Strong working knowledge of the following languages: English and Mandarin.
