Job Overview

The Student Services Advisor supports Shorelight Live programs, which offer hybrid higher education programs that combine the traditional, immersive U.S. university experience with technology-enabled, in-country, live-lecture learning.  The position will facilitate live classes and provide student services through our technology platform as well as support offline activities to build a vibrant student community across various live lecture locations within the region. The role reports to the manager of student services and operations for Shorelight Live.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Virtually audit live lecture sessions and provide assistance to students and faculty
  • Provide administrative, logistical, and technical support to students
  • Manage student success by actively monitoring student performance and using predictive metrics to provide student support
  • Coordinate with local operations team to provide technical support during live lectures
  • Coordinate and support team projects and off-site activities
  • Provide program feedback to local team, faculty, and corporate teams
  • Plan and write engaging content for the program blog; collaborate with students, faculty, and program staff to develop strategies for content
  • Develop student community building initiatives and work on special projects as assigned by management
  • Participate in training as necessary
  • Provide other student services as needed

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and professional proficiency in English required (preferably IELTS 7.0, TOEFL 90+)
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of full-time work experience; experience in education industry preferred
  • Experience in writing content for websites and social media strongly preferred 
  • Energetic and motivated professional with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural professional environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work late hours (3pm-11:00pm) during the work week on a regular basis
  • Eligibility to work in China without sponsorship

Job Overview

The Business Development, North China is a channel development leader who is in charge of searching and signing new business partner/channel within their given region, to support regional recruitment team to expand its channel network and increase points of sales for all SL programs. Reporting to Recruitment Manager North China, the Business Development should focus on identification of channel and partner opportunities, pitching, negotiating and forming partnership agreements with these channels, and then ensuring a healthy business yield from those new channels/partners. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with HQ data analyst team and Regional Recruitment Manager to develop an actionable regional channel expansion plan.
  • Lead the initial approach to new channel/partner, then following an agreed engagement process, in collaboration with Regional Recruitment Manager, pitch and negotiate through to contract and a sales goal.
  • Ongoing relationship management and maintaining of the new partnerships post-contract.
  • Ongoing support to Recruitment team to cultivate the new partnership and drive new sales.
  • Work closely with IUA team to develop school network and non-agent channels.
  • Work closely with SL live BD team to develop and sign GSC channels and opportunities.
  • Optimization of regional new channel expansion collaterals and presentations. 
  • Ensure new channel agreement, APP etc., are optimized for revenue and ROI optimization

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 3+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in North China
  • 3+ years of experience in B2B relationship management
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient
  • Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the work team
  • Willingness to travel
  • Existing network and relationships within the education industry in North China; strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs, and products; and US higher education are all pluses
  • Eligibility to work in the hiring location without sponsorship
