Job Overview

The Staff Accountant supports all accounting activities for several partnerships. Under the direction of corporate leadership, the Staff Accountant collaborates with each partnership’s Managing Director and the financial, planning, and analysis team to prepare annual and monthly budgets to actual reporting. He or she is fiscally responsible and looks for opportunities to improve operational practice to align with financial goals. The Staff Accountant is a strategic thinker and problem solver with strong attention to detail and a proven customer service approach to working with others. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the role includes dotted-line responsibility to an Operations Coordinator, Student Accounts, on campus.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and enter journal entries for the monthly financial close, including those for cash, prepaids, fixed assets, and all required accruals
  • Review, reconcile, and enter vendor invoices for payment
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations for required balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Collaborate with corporate and campus staff on all financial aspects of assigned partnerships, including maintaining KPI’s on student enrollment, operational expenses, student invoicing, discounts, and progression invoicing
  • Assist Operations Coordinator with ensuring student financial accounts are accurate in both SalesForce and in NetSuite
  • Work closely with the Operations Coordinator to ensure accurate invoicing of students and sponsors
  • Assist Operations Coordinator with collection of outstanding accounts receivable
  • Support the Operations Coordinator with the processing of student payments through outside merchant vendors
  • Assist the Operations Coordinator in running reports to identify and resolve any financial holds on student accounts
  • Support Operations Coordinator with providing excellent customer service to students, staff, university partners, and vendors through consistent, courteous, and timely communication regarding account/payment status, inquiries, requests, and disputes
  • Assist with corporate audit readiness and other projects as assigned
  • Help to improve internal processes, systems, and procedures 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Proven expertise using Microsoft Office products, primarily Excel
  • Detail oriented, with exceptional organization and communication skills

Job Overview

An Application Support Engineer is responsible for the overall administration, configuration and maintenance of core business applications. As an Application Support Intern, you will help analyze existing systems for improvement, recommend new system processes, and keep reports of all structural and process changes. You must follow best practices and align with company goals while creating better solutions to increase performance and revenue. This includes developing scripting and automation tools to reduce administrative and manual overhead on common business tasks and participate in requirements gathering, reporting and analytics surrounding Shorelight’s systems.

This position develops a high level of expertise, including: data sources, external inputs and integrations, and work with development, QA and security teams to execute on business and audit requirements, future state planning; including capacity and growth management, configuration management, and regular reporting on system performance and health.

Essential Functions

Business Systems and Software Support

  • Work cross-functionally with business stakeholders and engineering team members
  • Provide system administration and integration support for SAAS business platforms and software
  • Perform system security audits and work closely with security department to maintain compliance
  • Work with development teams in translating business requirements
  • Understanding of assigned applications – functional and technical – to support, bug fix, upgrade and other project support functions as appropriate
  • Perform incident troubleshooting, analysis and diagnosis based on symptoms, existing knowledge base, review of code, technical process flow, inputs, etc. of assigned applications
  • Provide implementation and onboarding support for new software
  • Assist and facilitate continuous monitoring of core systems, processes and integrations

Technical and Operational Efficiency

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and automation
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts (prioritize problems, identify and validate RCA) and if needed document and identify work-arounds
  • Proactively research and escalate any abnormalities in order to mitigate system issues and/or downtime
  • Present key information to IT teams for improvements
  • Recommend new system developments with the goal of enhancing company business performance
  • Create guides to system updates, as needed

Tracking and Analytics

  • Contribute to shared knowledge base and best practices library
  • Assist developers in the identification and resolution of application or process related defects or issues ensure incidents and development requests are appropriately logged in ticketing system.

The Admissions Officer assists with the admissions of international students for both Direct and  International Accelerator Programs (IAP). Essential Functions

Admissions Data Management & Integrity

  • Process applications and documents for ACL-only (non-Shorelight Partner intenders) and forward them via integration
  • Assist in reviewing applications, transcripts, and other documents required for international student admissions
  • Review daily reports to manage and maintain the processing of applications and offers are meeting required deadlines
  • Coordinate I-20 process with partner university admissions staff
  • Issuance of AC Live SOF for confirmed students; confirm Acceptance for ACL students
  • Prepare acceptance packet mailings
  • Develop and run data reports for routine reporting to relevant stakeholders
  • Liaise with student services staff to gather student feedback, keep Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) updated and share student accomplishments with market-facing staff and recruiters
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Administrative Support

  • Support the Academic and Student Services Directors by assisting with pre-arrival processes and documentation, including partner and student inquiries
  • Review and coordinate mail and documentation on a daily basis
  • Respond to e-mail and phone inquiries
  • Assist with webinars for future students
  • Process requests for information packets and prepare mailings to prospective students
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, international education, or related field

Essential Functions

  • Creative

Marketing provides the strategic ownership of all marketing activities to drive demand and conversion. Driven by a deep understanding of markets and customer’s needs, the B2B marketing team drives product demand by developing and executing the marketing plan, bringing new products to market (launch), developing brand positioning and messaging, ensuring competitive differentiation, allowing both recruitment and marketing teams to align and work efficiently to generate and close opportunities.

The Marketing Coordinator (B2B Marketing) supports the execution of regional marketing strategies and plans for new and existing Shorelight products. He or she plays a key role in managing reporting and success metrics against the plans. 

The Marketing Coordinator project-manages critical functions and strategic initiatives within the student acquisition team, including channel expansion activities, digital campaigns, and loyalty programs. He or she acts as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders from project inception to delivery.  

The Marketing Coordinator develops a deep working knowledge of our products and our consumers to help inform marketing, product development and positioning. This person works cross-departmentally and with external vendors to ensure timely execution of objectives and establish a robust system for reporting against B2B marketing plans.  The position reports to the Executive Director, Marketing. 

Essential Functions

 Project Management of Channel Expansion Initiatives 

  • Collaborate with Shorelight’s marketing and global student recruitment teams in the development and management of project plans aligned to channel expansion initiatives, primarily divided into acquisition of new channel partners and increased productivity of existing channel partners 
  • Manage a network of vendors, including digital and creative agencies, to deliver and execute against key student acquisition initiatives
  • Communicate key deliverables, milestones, and progress to project stakeholders

Communications

  • Work with stakeholders to develop a best-in-class B2B communications plan, ensuring that Shorelight and partner universities are engaging and informing our channel partners regularly and effectively  
  • Develop streamlined and on-brand communication templates for regional marketing team members to use for B2B communications
  • Assist the team in using appropriate messaging platforms/lead nurture across our brands and audiences, as required

Global Team Support 

  • Act as the coordination point for the global marketing team, assisting the Executive Director, Marketing, in implementing strategic marketing plans and alignment with key marketing strategic pillars
  • Serve as an operational point of contact for regional marketing, digital marketing, and creative teams to ensure that planned B2B marketing activities and campaigns are delivered on time and as specified
  • Provide overall administrative and communications support for the B2B marketing team, as needed

Measure, Monitor, and Report on Efficiency of Marketing Strategy

  • Track the efficiency of all B2B marketing projects and align results with marketers and sales managers across the company; this includes working closely with internal account managers to ensure and manage B2B lead, contact, and account consistency or accuracy within our CRM (Salesforce)   
  • Lead and manage channel partner collateral planning, budgeting, quality control, and production

Brand Ownership and Accountability In-Market

  • Ensure all brands within the Shorelight brand architecture are treated according to brand guidelines; monitor usage, identify misuse, and rectify in-market 
  • Act as the B2B brand and tone-of-voice guardian within Shorelight, ensuring that we are communicating with channel partners in a consistent voice, look, and feel 
  • Drive student enrollment by working with the wider marketing team to initiate and localize agent marketing and conversion campaigns via automation platforms (Marketo), CRM (Salesforce), and social media

Cross-Functional Operations

  • Utilize third-party vendors for technical expertise and manage these relationships where necessary
  • Clearly identify and define absent content that requires sourcing from campus teams
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the global marketing team’s needs, working with the wider central marketing team to address these requests

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area 
  • 3+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry or a similarly structured industry
  • Excellent project management skills, including setting priorities and anticipating needs
  • Ability to work with CRM systems to monitor progress, report on key metrics, and communicate across the channel
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat)
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and North Asia localized media platforms
