Job Overview

The Director of Enrollment Management, Partner Operations serves as the subject matter expert on international enrollment for assigned partnerships.  He/she/they serves as the primary liaison with university admissions teams and the Center for International Services and Programs office.  The Director must be a self-directed individual with a demonstrated history of strategic thinking and leadership. He/she/they must show excellence in problem solving, oral and written communication, and a strong attention to detail. This position reports to the Executive Director, Regional Partner Operations and works closely with Managing Directors, Shorelight’s Enrollment Management team and University stakeholders.

Essential Functions

Enrollment Management

  • In concert with university admissions operations and Shorelight’s Enrollment Management team, drive workflow optimization to streamline university admissions and I20 processing capabilities
  • Support escalated cases for admissions decisions or service turnaround on I20s as needed
  • Serve as relationship manager on new program development, including admissions criteria, processes, integration and implementation
  • Host weekly review meetings with EM teams to provide ongoing guidance on admissibility standards and application consultation
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with University admissions/EM/Faculty/DSO teams to support timely resolution/processing of applications submitted to University
  • Lead biannual evaluation of Localized Entry Requirements (LERs), acceptable credentials, and application throughput with the goal of optimizing existing processes at the partnership level
  • Develop, document, and communicate local campus policies related to admissions and enrollment management
  • Support the Partner Operations leadership team with new initiatives that support enrollment goals & open access for qualified international students in collaboration with Shorelight acquisition leadership
  • Partner with Managing Directors on forecasting enrollment and participation in conversion activities including webinars and student outreach
  • Partner with MD/ED/University on determining productivity thresholds and forecasting production volume to ensure that SLA’s are met
  • Support pre-arrival and orientation activities at assigned schools

Relationship Management

  • Serve as primary relationship manager of critical university personnel, including but not limited to Vice President of Enrollment Management, Graduate Admissions Directors/Assistant Deans, Primary Designated School Official; support partnership relationships with other key stakeholders in the enrollment process across the university
  • Chair the Enrollment Services Committee (ESC), maintain a regular cadence of ESC meetings at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and communicate updates to the partnership Steering Committee and the wider Shorelight audience
  • Partner with Shorelight acquisition leadership to identify new opportunities that support enrollment goals and take the lead on bringing these forward to University stakeholders

Data and Technology

  • Coordinate data and file transfer into the university Student Information System
  • Work with university IT and engineering personnel to improve or implement systems integration
  • Support Managing Directors with funnel reports and forecasting enrollment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience with international student transcript evaluation
  • 3+ years of leadership and management experience of a growing admissions team
  • Experience with student data management and/or application systems, including Banner, Salesforce, Synapsis, or other related CRM systems
  • Knowledge of international student services within a higher education setting
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing projects and leading process
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders from local, national, and international constituencies
  • Eligibility to work in and travel in and out of the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in international education–related field
  • 5+ years of experience in international admissions–graduate admissions
  • Experience living in another cultural context and/or fluency in a second language
  • Enthusiasm for working with international students and the professionals who serve them
  • Ability to foster collaboration and trust, work collegially, and inspire others to high levels of performance

Essential Functions
Student Service

  • Guide, prepare, and motivate students to a successful undergraduate or graduate experience and degree completion
  • Deliver exceptional student services, beginning with pre-arrival processes, airport transfers, orientation programming, ongoing student services support, and student acculturation into the university providing a strong foundation for the student’s academic success
  • Mentor, train, and coach students to support their skill development in goal setting, strategic planning, cultural competency, problem solving, and interpersonal relationships, among other areas
  • Assist in the development, promotion, and implementation of programs to support student retention and socialization/acculturation; assist in the design and implementation of orientation programming
  • Teach or coach first-year transitional programming if applicable

  • Communicate openly and effectively with campus and community partners in accordance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) about health and safety issues, incidents, and problems 

Data and Technology

  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for assigned cohort of students
  • Contribute to student services operations to ensure that systems and procedures are followed and technology is used to streamline systems and procedures; as relevant, assist in the creation of new processes
  • Assist with the coordination of student satisfaction surveys and associated analysis, with an eye toward improving the student experience

The Managing Director (MD) develops and serves as the operational leader across programs for international students at University of Dayton. Enrollment

  • Serve as strategic leader of the partnership, including understanding and driving enrollment and diversity goals, driving annual strategy, and partnering with university leadership
  • Partner with student recruitment leadership to understand competitive landscape and key market opportunities
  • Lead all training on academic partnership programs and support regional recruitment activity through campus webinars, campaigns, and events

Student Experience

  • Ensure that the program retains students and guides, prepares, and motivates them to degree completion
  • Develop the strategy and programs required to deliver exemplary and differentiated customer service
  • Ensure academic integrity and compliance
  • Ensure systems and procedures are established and followed to maintain accurate records and reporting on all aspects of the program
  • Analyze data and reports on the progress of the program and achievement of objectives

Campus Fiscal Operations

  • Assume overall P&L responsibility, including budget management
  • Contribute to financial planning and analysis to support strategic plan
  • Lead new product development and optimization to support revenue growth and margin improvement

Relationship Management

  • Partner with key stakeholders across the university to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and support of key initiatives and goals

Job Overview

The Student Services Director (SSD) develops and leads all aspects of student services for international students enrolled in UDayton GlobalHis or her main responsibility is to design and implement a strategic plan to support UDayton Global students’ academic engagement, social integration, and cross-cultural development in their new academic and social environments.

The SSD leads the student services and on-campus teams in ensuring that students receive the support they need to build skills and find long-term success. He or she drives a strategic, high-impact student services organization that aligns with UDayton Global objectives and demonstrates innovative approaches to analysis, data-driven decision making, and problem solving. The SSD leverages his or her heightened interpersonal and customer service skills to develop strategic relationships with university leaders, administrators, partners, students, and parents. The SSD understands and communicates to others the holistic overlay of the academic, social, cultural, and emotional needs in the student lifecycle. His or her passion to deliver a high level of service to students inspires the same in internal and external teams. This position reports to and works closely with the Managing Director.


Essential Functions

Student Service

  • Develop programs that guide, prepare, and motivate students toward degree completion, in partnership with the Managing Director, Academic Director, and Shorelight leadership
  • Manage all UDayton Global student services, including housing and dining, pre-arrival and arrival support, orientation, events calendar, and coordination of student ambassador program and peer advising infrastructure
  • Maximize student retention and progression and foster a sense of belonging by encouraging participation in program events, university events, and on-campus clubs/organizations; advising students holistically; and offering tutoring services
  • Support Managing Director in the rollout of new program initiatives

People Management

  • Supervise a team of Student Services Advisors (SSAs) responsible for holistic advising, student customer service, and program execution with a clear focus on student retention
  • Recruit, develop, and retain team members to ensure productivity and engagement
  • Develop talent through goal setting, performance evaluations, stay interviews, development planning, and ongoing feedback
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and corrective action (when necessary) to team members
  • Foster a culture that reflects Shorelight’s values, including leading by example

Relationship Management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years’ experience in higher education or hospitality

Job Overview

The Academic Director implements and manages an International Accelerator Program (IAP) curriculum and support services for international students. This individual primarily ensures the delivery of a high-quality academic experience for all students in the program. This program combines English language instruction and support with academic instruction and acculturation. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Academic Director ensures the quality of this specialized academic program, organizing effective student support and guidance in areas of English for academic purposes, tutorials, and progression through the program.

In cooperation with university academic units and university administrators, the Academic Director works collegially with students, faculty members, and administrators. The Academic Director is a strong team player who participates in both academic and student services initiatives, providing a high level of customer service to all stakeholders.


Essential Functions
 

Academic Program Management

  • Manage academic operations, including implementing and overseeing systems and procedures; maintaining accurate records and reports on the program; and meeting academic program quality standards, ensuring continuous evaluation and improvement of the program
  • Work closely with the Managing Director, Academic Chair, and Shorelight Education to supervise and manage all academics of the program, including curriculum delivery, mentoring of faculty and staff, and overall student experience
  • Collaborate with academic units to develop a program that meets the university’s objectives; further strengthens the university’s mission, international reach, and outstanding reputation; and maximizes student success and progression
  • Partner with the Academic Chair, Student Services Director, and university personnel to ensure a holistic program encompassing academic success, integration into the university environment, acculturation, student service support, and student success
  • Oversee academic program planning
  • Represent the program through participation in academic events, on familiarization tours, and through memberships and affiliations as appropriate
  • Adhere to university policies regarding academic integrity and related university academic policies

Student Progression and Retention

  • In partnership with the Academic Chair and the Director of Admissions, implement and monitor student retention processes and policies for the program
  • Analyze reports on the progress and satisfaction of the students’ achievement of objectives, including progression through the program and degree completion

Relationship Management

  • Liaise with appropriate committees and other partners related to the matriculation and onboarding of new students initially, through the IAP, and into university degree programs
  • Work with academic departments to ensure appropriate scheduling of courses and assignment of instructional staff for the program

People Management

  • Recruit, develop, and retain team members to ensure productivity and engagement
  • Engage in talent management activities such as goal setting, performance evaluations, stay interviews, development planning, and ongoing feedback to develop team members and achieve organization goals

  • Record of exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

The Assistant Academic Director assists in managing an International Accelerator Program (IAP) for international students. This program combines English language instruction and support with academic instruction and acculturation. Reporting to and assisting the Academic Director for the UDayton Global Partnership, the Assistant Academic Director works closely with university administrators, academic support staff, and faculty members to ensure the quality of this specialized academic program. He or she supports and guides program students by organizing effective student resources in areas of academic English, tutorials, and progression through the program.                                 

The Assistant Academic Director ensures the delivery of a high-quality academic experience for all students in the IAP. This individual possesses the interpersonal skills to work closely with a range of administrators, students, and faculty. The Assistant Academic Director is a strong team player who participates in both academic and student services initiatives, providing a high level of customer service to all stakeholders.

Essential Functions

 Academic Program Support

  • Assist in managing all academic program logistics, including timetabling, resource preparation, and classroom allocation
  • Oversee and assist with day-to-day academic operations of the program, providing hands-on academic and acculturation student support
  • Manage academic operations (as per guidelines of the Academic Director), including ensuring established systems and procedures are followed, and accurate records and reports on the program are maintained
  • Work closely with the Student Services Director to support student services activities
  • Work with university academic departments to ensure appropriate scheduling of courses and assignment of instructional staff
  • Assist with maintaining academic program quality and standards of the university and its accrediting bodies, and ensure continuous evaluation and improvement of the program
  • Represent the program at academic events, during familiarization tours, and through memberships and affiliations, as appropriate
  • Adhere to university policies regarding academic integrity and related university academic policies 

Student Progression and Retention

  • Monitor student retention processes and develop/promote policies for the program, utilizing Salesforce and other data management tools
  • Analyze data and report on the progress and satisfaction of the students’ achievement of objectives, including progression through the program and degree completion at the university

Relationship Management

  • Partner with the Academic Director and the Student Services Director to liaise with key offices at the university
  • Support the Academic Director in liaising with academic committees and other partners related to the matriculation and onboarding of new students initially, through UDayton Global and into university degree programs


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in higher education, language school management, TEFL/TESOL, or related field
  • Experience working with international students
  • Demonstrated understanding of class management tools, including databases, Microsoft Office programs, course management systems, and forms of media to support an interactive and student-centered classroom instruction
  • Eligible to work in and travel freely to and from the United States without sponsorship

Job Overview

The Student Service Advisor (SSA) is an energetic team player who can successfully execute support services catered to international students. The primary responsibility of the SSA is to deliver high-quality co-curricular and extracurricular support experiences for program students, as well as hands-on academic support, guidance, and mentoring. The SSA has excellent customer service skills, and the ability to focus his/her attention on individual students as they are guided through the program. The SSA also possesses the interpersonal and intercultural skills necessary to work closely with students, parents, program staff, and university administration.

Essential Functions

Student Service

  • Guide, prepare and motivate students to a successful undergraduate or graduate experience and degree completion.
  • Deliver exceptional student services, beginning with pre-arrival processes, airport transfers, orientation programming, on-going student services support, and student acculturation into the university
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of services that provide a strong foundation for the student’s academic success
  • Provide mentorship, training, and coaching to support student skill development in areas including but not limited to goal setting, strategic planning, cultural competency, problem solving, and interpersonal relationship
  • Assist in the development, promotion, and implementation of programs to support student retention and socialization/acculturation; assist in the design and implementation of orientation programming
  • Teach or coach first year transitional programming as assigned

Relationship Management

  • Support key relationships at the university and at the partnership, including Academic teams, International Student Services, Campus Housing, Dining Services, Student Development & Enrollment Services, Office of Student Involvement, Office of the Registrar, and various other departments

Technology

  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for assigned cohort of students.
  • Contribute to student services operations to ensure that systems and procedures are followed and technology is used to streamline systems and procedures; as relevant, assist in the creation of new processes
  • Assist with the coordination of student satisfaction surveys and associated analysis, with an eye towards improving the student experience.

  • Knowledge of Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic or Hindi is preferred

Job Overview 

The Admissions Officer assists with the admissions of international students for both Direct and  International Accelerator Programs (IAP). Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Officer possesses a high degree of self-direction, strong attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills. He or she demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity toward students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds.

 

Essential Functions

Admissions Data Management & Integrity

  • Process applications and documents and forward them to university partners via integration tools
  • Assist in reviewing applications, transcripts, and other documents required for international student admissions 
  • Review daily reports to manage and maintain the processing of applications and offers are meeting required deadlines
  • Coordinate I-20 process with partner university admissions staff
  • Prepare acceptance packet mailings
  • Develop and run data reports for routine reporting to relevant stakeholders
  • Liaise with student services staff to gather student feedback, keep Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) updated and share student accomplishments with market-facing staff and recruiters
  • Other duties as assigned

Administrative Support

  • Support the Academic and Student Services Directors by assisting with pre-arrival processes and documentation, including partner and student inquiries
  • Review and coordinate mail and documentation on a daily basis
  • Respond to e-mail and phone inquiries
  • Assist with webinars for future students
  • Process requests for information packets and prepare mailings to prospective students
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings 

 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, international education, or related field
  • 1+ years Admissions experience, including working knowledge of university admissions processes
  • Knowledge of international student services within a higher education setting
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate and accomplish work goals 
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Eligibility to work in and travel freely to and from the United States without sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with Banner and/or Salesforce
  • Strong working knowledge of PeopleSoft software
  • Strong working knowledge of one or more foreign languages
  • Ability to take initiative, perform multiple assignments, and establish short- and long-term priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate sound business acumen and meet performance targets
