Job Overview

The Data Engineering Manager leads a team of Data Engineers in all aspects of data warehouse and data integrations.  He/She/They design, develop, and deploy solutions that support the company’s data warehousing and CRM system integration.  This role reports to the Vice President of Software Engineering.

 

The Data Engineering Manager has outstanding oral and written communication skills, solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent testing skills. He/She/They has an entrepreneurial mindset, a passion for emerging technologies, and the ability to collaborate with and address both technical and nontechnical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.  The Data Engineering Manager is comfortable multitasking, changing priorities as needed, and using data and creative thinking to inform all decisions.  

 

Essential Functions

Data Warehouse

  • Design, develop, and test data warehouse tables and infrastructure
  • Work closely with the Data Analytics Team to identify new requirements for the data warehouse

 

Data Integration

  • Design, develop, and test data integration processes among business systems and data warehouses in multiple DBMS environments, including cloud-based systems
  • Design, develop, and test system integrations among enterprise front- and back-office applications (ERP, CRM, Financial, Planning, and other systems)
  • Prepare documentation and flow charts of systems, business processes, and databases
  • Lead solutioning and participate in data modeling design sessions
  • Provide guidance to engineers on implementing code changes based on system specifications
  • Analyze problems and propose solutions
  • Lead DBAs and Data Architects to implement database changes
  • Direct, support, and mentor other Data Engineers on the team
  • Ensure Data Engineers execute system and user testing and plan production launches

 

Operational Support

  • Monitor daily jobs and take corrective actions for identified errors, ensuring the operation runs smoothly
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing code, processes, and overall data quality improvements
  • Test and troubleshoot issues identified and reported by end users of Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, and other BI tools
  • Assist power users in their understanding of the Enterprise Data Model and usage of the Enterprise Data Warehouse 

Security

  • Comply with Shorelight Written Information Security Policy, and all other Shorelight Information Security Policies and Procedures
  • Take responsibility for any Shorelight assets assigned to you
  • Promptly report any security events, incidents or weaknesses to Shorelight Security

People Management

  • Recruit, develop, and retain team members to ensure productivity and engagement
  • Engage in talent management activities such as goal setting, performance evaluations, stay interviews, development planning, and ongoing feedback to develop team members and achieve organization goals
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and corrective action (when necessary) to team members
  • Foster a culture that reflects Shorelight’s values

 

Minimum Qualifications

           Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years of experience in data management and ETL design/development
  • Experience in database development using Amazon Redshift, DB2, SQL Server, and/or Oracle
  • Strong SQL scripting skills, including procedural languages such as PL/SQL and T-SQL
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, and Pentaho PDI
  • Experience in working with large-scale data warehousing and complex transformations
  • Experience in working with dimensional models
  • Experience using a software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology
  • Knowledge of Stored Procedures/Unix scripting knowledge
  • Knowledge of implementing adequate controls for balancing
  • Must have solid understanding of relational database design
  • Experience with BI and reporting platforms such as Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Tableau, PowerBI, and Cognos
  • Eligible to work and travel in the United States without sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications

           Bachelor’s degree in information systems, information technology, or computer science

  • Knowledge of Salesfoce.com data model
  • Experience with Informatica Cloud

Job Overview 

The Technical Support Manager oversees all the desktop and technology support for our team members and external customers. This role manages the internal and external facing support teams, prioritizes their work, and ensures the team meets our SLAs. He/She/They manage all software and hardware purchasing to support new hires as well as maintain ongoing inventory of consumables. The Technical Support Manager will be the subject matter expert in several of the internal solutions used within the organization.

Essential Functions   Technical Support 

  • Manage a global team of support engineers and technicians as well as recruit and train new members.
  • Actively monitor onboarding pipeline and ticket queues, and ensure that all requests are handled in accordance with Shorelight’s service delivery standards
  • Work collaboratively with the other Operations team leads on facilities, project management and process improvement and tracking.
  • Create, document, and publish processes and knowledgebase articles for internal and external reference
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all levels of technical issues to onsite and remote users
  • Maintain familiarity with current and upcoming technology trends in mobile, desktop OS, etc.
  • Make continual improvements to support processes and procedures to improve response times, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate high degrees of skill and tact in the areas of teamwork and interpersonal relationships, including highly effective oral, written, and listening communication skills
  • Maintain and develop strong technical expertise in key technologies used within the company, including but not limited to operating systems, browsers, Zoom, Office 365, Okta, and similar technology

 

Relationship Management

  • Partner closely with and provide feedback to Engineering and Product teams to understand product functions and potential areas of improvement
  • Work closely with Human Resources team to ensure smooth onboarding for our global team members
  • Be the face of the technical support organization that creates an environment that fosters and promotes trust, accessibility, and subject matter expertise across all tiers of the company and in all products and services

 Tracking & Analytics   

  • Track and monitor ticket workflows and resolution times
  • Provide reports and ticket analysis to the Product team and other internal stakeholders
  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate current scope of services and customer satisfaction to identify and continually improve the customer journey and experience
  • Identify trends and potential opportunities for training or product improvements

 Budgeting 

  • Responsible for the overall supply and laptop budget for the company, including coordinating purchases with global teams
  • Work with Human Resources team to understand annual hiring trends and forecasts for proper asset planning and budgeting
  • Maintain current inventory/asset tracking system of all computer hardware and software and their owners

 People Management 

  • Attract, develop, and retain team members to ensure productivity and engagement

Essential Functions

Talent Acquisition Support

  • Enter all job requisitions into Jobvite (applicant tracking system) and post requisitions to all job boards and online platforms
  • Serve as functional expert on Jobvite and answer any questions from hiring managers and candidates as necessary
  • Schedule all US-based interviews within Jobvite
  • Post all new jobs to Spark (internal website) and Team’s on a weekly basis
  • Manage the background check process
  • Generate offer letters
  • Create new team member onboarding tickets and work with technology team to ensure new team members are set up with the appropriate equipment and access
  • Handle all personnel action forms (PAFs) for payroll processing

 

New Team Member Onboarding

  • Coordinate HR aspects of new hire orientation, including scheduling HR orientation, assigning new team member navigator, and working with respective hiring managers to ensure new team members are onboarded per our onboarding program, Setting Sail.
  • Manage the master calendar for Setting Sale, ensuring new members have the appropriate onboarding meetings on their calendars
  • Send 30-day check-in surveys to new team members
  • Schedule 60- and 90-day check-ins between new team members and respective manager/HR Business Partner

 

Training Support

  • Provide administrative support including, but not limited to, running reports, drafting presentations, and drafting correspondence
  • Assist in the coordination of trainings by managing invitations and training schedules
  • Create and maintain the master training schedule for Shorelight
  • Administer LinkedIn Learning and other training programs through appropriate platforms

 

HR Operations

  • Maintain all employee files and HR records
  • Monitor the central HR mailbox and ensure all inquires are responded to in a timely manner
  • Conduct employment verifications via telephone or electronically
  • Ensure that Shorelight remains in compliance with applicable employment regulations

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1+ years of HR, Talent Acquisition, or administrative experience in a complex, global company
  • Ability to interact successfully with many different personality types and effectively develop and maintain strong working relationships across the region
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships throughout an organization despite geographic and time zone challenges

Job Overview

The Transfer Admissions Manager provides subject-matter expertise and insight into international transfer admissions and enrollment to internal stakeholders and to our partner universities. The Transfer Admissions Manager reports to the Associate Director of Admissions, Training and Operations, and assists with maintaining transfer admissions best practices for Shorelight Enrollment Management. The Transfer Admissions Manager must be able to provide key insight into the evaluation of international transfer credit, best practices in transfer admissions, and maintenance of transfer articulation information. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Create preliminary credit assessments for international transfer admissions applicants to Shorelight partner universities
  • Develop and manage Shorelight transfer credit articulation database
  • Work with partner universities in guiding and maintaining inbound and outbound transfer articulation
  • Identify opportunities to improve conversion metrics and partner with analytics on key insights for international transfer applicants
  • Create and provide training resources on international credit conversion, course articulation, and international transfer best practices
  • Communicate directly with Shorelight representatives and agents regarding transfer admissions practices and policies
  • Prepare international program evaluations for inbound and outbound mobility

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in international education-related field

We are seeking a Marketing Production Manager who will lead and manage the production of content and creative assets across a broad set of marketing touchpoints, including web, email, and print. This role will be responsible for working with Marketing leadership to develop and maintain a sustainable system for the planning, prioritization, resource assignment, tracking, and reporting of a series of initiatives and projects that are critical to the success of the Shorelight marketing mission. Essential Functions
  • Reports to Sr. Director, Creative to assess incoming initiatives and project priorities across Engagement, Program Marketing, CX, and Creative Services. 
  • Manage and facilitate project development and communication, including stand-ups, check-in meetings, ticket sizing, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Set standards for brief and ensure project scopes and schedules are well defined. Work closely with developers and marketing stakeholders to identify dependencies and milestones.

Meeting this goal includes developing new or expanding on existing partnerships with high schools, language schools, agencies, sponsors, and other university feeder programs along with contributing to marketing and conversion campaigns that drive enrollments to Shorelight’s university partners (https://partners.shorelight.com/). The individual in this position also takes an active role in training, developing, and managing Shorelight’s key accounts in the region, inclusive of marketing initiatives to raise the profile of our university partners

Essential Functions

  • Design and execute market-specific student recruitment strategies that focus on developing and managing a network of high schools, agencies, and other feeder networks
  • Build, source and manage key accounts to achieve enrollment targets for all university partnerships
  • Establish rapport and build strong relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, partners, and other external institutions and vendors
  • Leverage technology to support a data-driven approach to recruitment
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness and market intelligence
  • Work effectively across Shorelight teams to ensure smooth entry into the school or program, such as working with Admissions on student assessment, Marketing on campaigns, and Enrollment Services on immigration and arrival
  • Travel within territory with occasional cross regional travel, attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to assist key accounts and student pipeline management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 3–5 years of experience in a successful sales role
  • Must be highly motivated, creative and flexible.
  • Demonstrated success managing a full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing
  • A proven track record of achieving measurable results in a fast-paced, data and deadline-driven department
  • Expertise in utilizing creative problem-solving skills to overcome any obstacles while guiding potential students through the university admissions process 
  • Adept at working collaboratively with remote teams
  • Strategic-minded and self-motivated, with a strong drive for results
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Proficiency with relevant technologies, such as CRMs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the work team
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing network and relationships within the U.S. education industry, with a strong working knowledge of key regional markets, programs and products, and U.S. higher education
  • Salesforce experience desirable
  • Bi-lingual speaker preferable (Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Vietnamese)
