The Technical Product Specialist supports the development of Shorelight Live learning modality and technology across Asia.

 

Shorelight Live is a high-growth, independent division of Shorelight serving international students, institutions, and governments through a cutting-edge, classroom-based, Live instruction platform developed by Shorelight. Shorelight Live offers elite U.S. degree-bound and Executive Education programs through partnerships with local Global Study Center host institutions.

 

The Technical Product Specialist role is responsible doing market research into distance learning and audio video technologies that support the development of Shorelight Live internationally. The Specialist also supports technical demonstrations of the Live technology.

 

This position is based in Shanghai and directly reports to the Vice President, International Development.

Shorelight is seeking to hire a Recruitment Manager to execute a student recruitment strategy across Central China targeted at international students seeking a US university degree.  The role includes account management of Shorelight’s country or regional network of recruiters, schools, and universities along with building and managing direct-to-student marketing campaigns that drive enrollments to Shorelight’s university partners.

 

This position is based in Shanghai, and directly reports to the Senior Director, Student Recruitment, China & North Asia.

 

Essential Functions

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Executing Shorelight’s university partner’s student recruitment strategies, partnering with Shorelight’s Global Marketing Team for all marketing and advertising strategies and collateral
  • Managing key channel accounts and partnerships to achieve enrollment targets for all university partnerships
  • Maintaining a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends, and reporting on all phases of the recruitment process to Regional Directors, using technology systems
  • Maintaining maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence

  • Executing on efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of the recruitment process (inquiry, application, assessment, offer, acceptance, visa applications, orientation, etc.) with strong focus on conversion of inquiries to applications

Shorelight seeks a dynamic individual to execute Shorelight’s marketing strategy, consisting of content development, e-mail and direct mail campaigns, collateral, events, presentations, podcasts, webinars, and other online communications to help shape our marketing message. The Marketing Coordinator is an integral part of the marketing team assisting the Marketing Managers in marketing products through managing e-mail and social media campaigns, reporting analytics, maintaining promotional materials inventory, planning meetings and trade shows, and maintaining databases. Essential Functions

  • Work with agencies to manage and coordinate content strategy for all official Chinese social media platforms for each university partner, including:
    • Work with the campus marketing team to source and localize content from the university’s U.S. social media accounts
    • Develop topics, campaigns and content independent from the U.S. social media accounts to target the Chinese audience
    • Manage relationship with agency vendor(s), working with them to produce and manage daily content and content calendars, campaign strategy and execution, and monitor the return on investment
  • Manage EPR and social listening across all university partner brands
  • Work closely with Shorelight marketing team to execute regional social media strategy by university partner to ensure that B2B and B2C campaigns are aligned and delivering results
  • Support the marketing manager to develop marketing automation content and email campaigns including nurturing, conversion and general brand awareness campaigns
  • Keep social media accounts updated with brand updates, messaging platform changes, and other developments that are required to keep the Chinese social media accounts tightly within brand standards of the university partner
  • Stay up-to-date on new trends in the Chinese social media marketing realm, and ensure that university brands have presence on new impactful channels
  • Understand and implement the goals, strategies and marketing tactics within the Shorelight China team and Shorelight corporate team to successfully meet annual goals
  • Ensure our social media communications adhere to best practices and maintain strict quality control

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years tactical marketing experience, preferably within international education, higher education, or consumer brands
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • Experience managing social media or marketing campaigns
  • Experience managing external vendors or internal teams to deliver on projects

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Superb business writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects and move them forward in a timely manner despite challenges

The Regional Director, Sales and Marketing, develops and executes a multichannel revenue and growth strategy across China for Shorelight Live.

Shorelight Live offers elite U.S. degree-bound and Executive Education programs through partnerships with local Global Study Center host institutions.

The Regional Director role includes line management of Shorelight Live recruitment managers, multichannel marketing, and business development in the region as well as high-level account management of Global Study Center hosts. This individual drives and executes the revenue strategy across the region and multiple channels to maximize student opportunities and revenue across Shorelight Live’s portfolio of degree and certificate programs.

This position can be based in any tier one city in China and directly reports to the Vice President, International Development.


Essential Functions

Regional Strategy/Operations 

  • Develop and lead the execution of regional revenue growth strategy across agent and direct channels, products, and geographical subregions
  • Plan and manage regional budget, including target setting, travel and expense, scholarships/discounts, marketing, and channel partner incentives
  • Manage commercial relationships with Global Study Center hosts across China
  • Work closely with Boston HQ to deliver critical feedback on new products, universities, and programs
  • Maintain high levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Where applicable, engage with relevant government entities to inform and facilitate execution of the regional Shorelight Live strategy

Channel Sales Development/Management

  • Grow geographic coverage and appoint/manage channel partners in new cities to achieve regional enrollment goals
  • Develop and manage the annual partnership plans of key regional channel partners
  • Develop and manage the execution of a multichannel revenue growth strategy across agencies, sponsorship bodies, universities, and D2C channels
  • Develop and ensure execution of key regional initiatives, such as multi-application bundling and scholarship incentives, for each channel partner

Direct and Corporate Sales Development/Management

  • Seek sales opportunities via industry bodies and specific employers in key degree and certificate specializations
  • Develop industry relationships for use at recruitment events, for internship opportunities, and for outplacement assistance for Live degree graduates
  • Define and manage integrated direct sales campaigns, including demand generation, online and offline engagement, CRM integration, pre- and post-sale processes, and activity management
  • Establish and institutionalize policies and processes for the integration, where applicable, of direct and indirect sales activities to optimize lead conversion

Team Management

  • Develop the team structure for the region to leverage staff strengths and recruitment opportunities
  • Hire staff per approved regional hiring plan (developed by the Regional Director and approved by HQ)
  • Directly manage the regional recruitment team and marketing team
  • Work closely with other regional teams (enrollment services, admissions) to collaborate on priorities and initiatives to achieve targets

Portfolio Sales Pipeline Management 

  • Manage student demand generation and lead captures; execute against targets across each Shorelight Live partner
  • Develop and ensure the execution of campaigns that enable the successful launch of new programs to the region; adjust as needed to drive target achievement
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitor enrollment trends, and use technology systems and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective channel partners, sponsorship bodies, and Shorelight recruitment staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 8+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry or a similarly structured industry
  • 5+ years of direct line management experience

Job Overview

The Enrollment Services Advisor leads and executes our pre-arrival conversion activities in the China region.  Based in Beijing, the Enrollment Services Arrival works as part of a highly motivated professional team and is responsible for regional visa success and overall conversion and arrival of new students on campus.

 

This position works closely with recruiters, admission and marketing/D2C teams, and Shorelight’s partner campus teams to provide student-focused, optimal learning experiences and services that lead to student conversion.  Measures of success for this role include the ability to drive conversion from deposit to enrollment, high rate of pre-payment, high rate of visa issuance, and on-time arrival to campuses. A large proportion of this sales and service role is speaking with applicants, parents and agents via online chat platform, email, telephone daily. The position directly reports to the Enrollment Services Manager, China.
 

Key Responsibilities

 

The responsibilities of this position include:

 

  • I-20 and Visa Preparation
    • Collaborate closely with admissions, agents and recruitment for all confirmed students to ensure efficient completion of required documents to achieve I-20s for students
    • Provide a comprehensive visa preparation service to students and agents including regular presentations to agencies, sharing of tips and best practices, and mock interviews with students to achieve a 95%+ visa issuance rate
    • Track and analyze visa appointments, embassy processing times and student interview feedback to continuously enhance and adapt visa preparation according to current trends and insights

 

  • Pre-Departure Process and Activity Management
    • Design, manage and facilitate an engaging and informative pre-departure concierge service for students, parents and agencies
    • Participate with the planning and implementation of pre-departure events (online and offline)
    • Ensure student’s financial obligations are met by facilitating payments of tuition and other associated fees before departure
    • Ensure agents/students and their families complete and submit pre-arrival forms and documentation to campuses, with a focus on the transportation form so campus teams can effectively manage the arrival process
    • Work with recruitment, students and agencies to ensure clarity on-time arrival of students to campus for orientation
    • Serve as the main point of contact for all sub-regional agents and students in the pre-arrival phase

 

  • Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Provide key partner’s VIP service, including customized reports, regular update of student progress, and in agent office visits
    • Analyze data in order to provide ongoing weekly updates, reports and forecasts to the ES Manager and Regional team for all students
    • Be the point of information and clarity on all conversion activities and student status
    • Maintain a database of respective sub-regional students to track their status and progression to enrollment

 

  • Stakeholder / Student Family Engagement and Management
    • Manage and maintain regional agent/student online inquiry platforms
    • Build a strong rapport with students, parents, channel partners, partner campus teams, admissions and any other key stakeholders
    • Maintain a database of assigned students to track their status and progress toward arrival
    • Act as key contact for the campus student services teams post arrival to help communicate with channel partners/parents to assist with any follow-on activities post enrollment (i.e. student attendance, performance etc.)  

 

Minimum Experience/Skills

  • Experience living, working, or studying overseas preferred
  • Proficient in writing and speaking English and Mandarin
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

The Vice President, China Recruitment, develops and executes a student recruitment strategy across China that targets international students seeking their U.S. university degrees. This recruitment strategy will ensure Shorelight’s continued growth in China. The VP works closely with both regional and Boston-based teams, including the General Manager, Asia; Executive Director of Global Recruitment; Chief Recruitment Officer; Finance and Marketing Departments; Shorelight Live and other functions based in Boston headquarters to develop and execute on this recruitment strategy.

The VP line-manages Shorelight’s regional recruitment team and leads high-level account development and management of key channel partners. The VP drives and ultimately ensures the execution of the recruitment strategy across the region and multiple channels to maximize students’ opportunities and Shorelight’s revenue across its portfolio of partner universities. This individual assumes ultimate responsibility for leading the recruitment business in China.

This position is based in Shanghai and reports directly to the Chief Recruitment Officer, who is based in the United Kingdom.

Job Overview

The Enrollment Advisor leads and executes our lead management and conversion activities in the Great China region, targeting Chinese senior students or working adults who seek U.S. university undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The Enrollment Advisor works as part of a highly motivated professional team and is responsible for D2C lead management and conversion of new students and for achieving monthly and yearly enrollment targets.

 

The role focuses on engaging with, advising, and supporting qualified international students in achieving their academic goals by enrolling them in one of Shorelight’s university partners programs. This position works closely with marketing/D2C teams to provide student-focused, optimal learning experiences and services that lead to student conversion.  Measures of success include driving raw leads to applications, converting offers to deposits and deposits to enrollments, and participating in offline events and drives for attendance. A large proportion of this sales and service role involves daily contact with applicants and parents via online chat platforms, email, and telephone.

Essential Functions

Student Lead Management

  • Contribute to the growth of the business and to new student enrollments by assessing potential applicants and determining their eligibility to apply and enroll in various academic programs
  • Collaborate regularly with China Digital Marketing via real-time feedback loops
  • Manage digital campaigns, messaging, lead volume, and lead conversion activities
  • Use a consultative sales approach to guide and support prospective students through the enrollment process
  • Receive and follow up on potential students via phone, email, social media, and, where beneficial and feasible, in person
  • Build rapport and provide guidance for students interested in obtaining a degree or certificate program based on prospective student’s desired goals or career interest
  • Provide a positive and superior student experience
  • Consistently seek opportunity to drive student growth by referrals
  • Maintain a high-level knowledge of current programs, products, processes, and policies
  • Demonstrate expertise in all steps of the admissions process
  • Understand and communicate the value propositions of our brands (and those of our competitors) to provide an excellent student experience by offering the right program

 

Conversion Activities

  • Drive new student enrollments from pipeline of student leads through conversion efforts
  • Execute on tailored conversion activities to drive conversion from salesqualified lead to application, application to confirmation, and confirmation to enrollment via multiple platforms to reach enrollment goals
  • Leverage available tools and develop new tools that move students through the conversion process, including scholarships, student ambassador connections, webinars, testimonials, and campus visits
  • Participate in all kinds of offline events, demos, road shows, etc. and drives for attendees

 

Tracking and Reporting

  • Leverage Salesforce CRM to track assigned students status and progress toward enrollment
  • Create consistent and observable documentation in Salesforce and throughout the student cycle of student engagement, activities, and processes
  • Maintain and update a student pipeline status dashboard to provide the team with ongoing assessment of the health of the student pipeline

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • Proficient in English, Native in Chinese
  • Prior education direct sales/enrollment experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) preferred
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, strong drive for results, pressure-resilient
  • Must possess confident telephone presence
  • Must possess consultative skills and demonstrate ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must possess effective time management skills, sense of urgency, and ability to plan and prioritize daily activities
  • Ability to sell highvalue consumer services or products; must possess confident tele-sales skills
  • Must be proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively by meeting quality standards
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the work team
