Job Overview

The Country Manager (CM), Saudi Arabia leads the execution of the student recruitment strategy across Saudi Arabia that targets international students seeking U.S. university degrees. The role includes the development and account management of Shorelight’s regional network of recruiters, schools, and universities, along with contributing to didrect-to-student marketing campaigns that drive enrollments to Shorelight’s university partners. This role also works with the Regional Director and the regional teams to ensure communication across the region and to coordinate recruitment events, visitors in market, and other activities.

This position directly reports to the Sr. Regional Director in Dubai.

Essential Functions

  • Execute Shorelight university partners’ student recruitment strategies, partnering with Recruitment Managers as well as Shorelight’s global marketing team for all marketing and advertising strategies and collateral
  • Help manage key channel accounts and partnerships to achieve enrollment targets for all university partnerships
  • Follow a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends and report on all phases of recruitment process to the Regional Director.  
  • Maintain high levels competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Travel extensively to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners, and other external institutions and vendors
  • Execute efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of the recruitment process with strong focus on converting inquiries to applications
  • Work with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry of our students into the school or program
  • Assist the wider MENA team with coordinating events in region, help maintain the master sheet of all recruitment events in the region, and help coordinate visitors from overseas into the region
  • Work with the Regional Director and Senior Recruitment Manager to generate status reports for the region
  • Vet and distribute the leads generated by D2C campaigns in the wider region
  • Work closely with the regional Enrollment Services Advisor to boost student conversion rates post-application
  • Coordinate familiarization trips with headquarters in Boston on behalf of the region

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sales, marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 5+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in Saudi Arabia or MENA market.
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with strong drive for results
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment while remaining pressure-resilient
  • Proficiency with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service culture within the work team
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally

Job Overview

The Business Development Manager for North China will be responsible for execution of an important element of the regional growth strategy, focusing on the cultivation of inactive recruitment channels, and expansion and performance management of the sub-agent network.  The role will be assigned a portfolio of channel partners to manage and develop towards achievement of an expected revenue target, and the work will require significant cooperation with Marketing and Training teams to reach the desired level of long-term, consistent channel partner productivity.

 

This position is based in Beijing and reports directly to the National Business Development Manager for China.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Account manage an assigned portfolio of channel partners across the North China region (precise account portfolio may be subject to minor changes throughout the financial year) to build influence and loyalty, reduce levels of inactivity and encourage long-term, consistent performance towards expectations.  Account portfolio will include a range of channel partners, from small-sized operations to the local/regional branches of major national agents.
  • Contribute to the design of the regional business development growth strategy, and lead on its execution and successful delivery 
  • Monitor performance levels of channel partners within assigned account portfolio, provide accurate and timely performance forecasts and introduce tactics to address challenges and any barriers to achievement of target
  • Build relationships with both active and inactive sub-agents within the assigned account portfolio with the aim of raising portfolio-wide levels of performance
  • Work closely with colleagues in Marketing and Training teams to ensure channel partners are given the materials, knowledge and skills needed to reach desired levels of performance
  • Share best practice and take a collegiate approach to working with other members of the business development team in other regions in China, such as providing thoughts and feedback on enrolment trends, industry insights, competitor activity and market environment
  • Devise a researched, measurable method of managing the Shorelight product mix across a range of channel partner profiles and business models  
  • Attend and deliver training sessions, information sessions and other similar events to drive and support channel partner performance (will require travel across the North China region, which will vary based on the season and period within the recruitment cycle)

 

 

Qualifications, knowledge and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations or a related area
  • 35 years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry

The Enrollment Services Advisor leads and executes our pre-arrival conversion activities in the India region.  Based in India, the Enrollment Services Advisor works as part of a highly motivated professional team and is responsible for regional visa success and overall conversion and arrival of new students on campus.

This position works closely with Recruitment, Admissions and Marketing/D2C teams, and Shorelight’s partner campus teams to provide student-focused, optimal learning experiences and services that lead to student conversion.  Measures of success for this role include the ability to drive conversion from deposit to enrollment, high rate of pre-payment, high rate of visa issuance, and on-time arrival to campuses. Key Responsibilities 

  • I-20 and Visa Preparation
    • Collaborate closely with admissions, agents and recruitment for all confirmed students to ensure efficient completion of required documents to achieve I-20s for students
    • Provide a comprehensive visa preparation service to students and agents including regular presentations to agencies, sharing of tips and best practices, and mock interviews with students to achieve a 95%+ visa issuance rate
    • Track and analyze visa appointments, embassy processing times and student interview feedback to continuously enhance and adapt visa preparation according to current trends and insights
  • Pre-Departure Process and Activity Management
    • Design, manage and facilitate an engaging and informative pre-departure concierge service for students, parents and agencies
    • Participate with the planning and implementation of pre-departure events (online and offline)
    • Ensure student’s financial obligations are met by facilitating payments of tuition and other associated fees before departure
    • Ensure agents/students and their families complete and submit pre-arrival forms and documentation to campuses, with a focus on the transportation form so campus teams can effectively manage the arrival process
    • Work with recruitment, students and agencies to ensure clarity on-time arrival of students to campus for orientation
    • Serve as the main point of contact for all sub-regional agents and students in the pre-arrival phase
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Provide key partner’s VIP service, including customized reports, regular update of student progress, and in agent office visits
    • Analyze data in order to provide ongoing weekly updates, reports and forecasts to the ES Manager and Regional team for all students
    • Be the point of information and clarity on all conversion activities and student status
    • Maintain a database of respective sub-regional students to track their status and progression to enrollment
  • Stakeholder / Student Family Engagement and Management
    • Manage and maintain regional agent/student online enquiry platforms
    • Build a strong rapport with students, parents, channel partners, partner campus teams, admissions and any other key stakeholders
    • Maintain a database of assigned students to track their status and progress toward arrival
    • Act as key contact for the campus student services teams post arrival to help communicate with channel partners/parents to assist with any follow-on activities post enrollment (i.e. student attendance, performance etc.)  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Working knowledge of CRM software, e.g. Salesforce, preferred
  • Prior Education Sales/Enrollment experience preferred
  • Experience living, working, or studying overseas preferred
  • Proficient in writing and speaking English and Hindi
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively by meeting quality standards
  • Must possess effective time management skills, sense of urgency and ability to plan and prioritize daily activities
  • Must possess consultative skills and demonstrate ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess ability to receive constructive feedback and demonstrate accountability
  • Must possess critical thinking, problem solving skills and good judgment
  • Ability to work in the hiring location required
