Job Overview

The Enrollment Counselor leads and executes our lead management and conversion activities in the Great China region, targeting Chinese senior students or working adults who seek U.S. university Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The Enrollment Advisor works as part of a highly motivated professional team and is responsible for D2C lead management and conversion of new students and for achieving monthly and yearly enrollment targets.

 

The role focuses on engaging with, advising, and supporting qualified international students in achieving their academic goals by enrolling them in one of Shorelight’s university partners programs. This position works closely with marketing/D2C teams to provide student-focused, optimal learning experiences and services that lead to student conversion.  Measures of success include driving raw leads to applications, converting offers to deposits and deposits to enrollments, and participating in offline events and drives for attendance. A large proportion of this sales and service role involves daily contact with applicants and parents via online chat platforms, email, and telephone.

 

The position reports to the Inside Sales Manager of China

 

Key Responsibilities

Student Lead Management

  • Contribute to the growth of the business and to new student enrollments by assessing potential applicants and determining their eligibility to apply and enroll in various academic programs
  • Collaborate regularly with China Digital Marketing via real-time feedback loops
  • Manage digital campaigns, messaging, lead volume, and lead conversion activities
  • Use a consultative sales approach to guide and support prospective students through the enrollment process
  • Receive and follow up on potential students via phone, email, social media, and, where beneficial and feasible, in person
  • Build rapport and provide guidance for students interested in obtaining a degree or certificate program based on prospective student’s desired goals or career interest
  • Provide a positive and superior student experience
  • Consistently seek opportunity to drive student growth by referrals
  • Maintain a high-level knowledge of current programs, products, processes, and policies
  • Demonstrate expertise in all steps of the admissions process
  • Understand and communicate the value propositions of our brands (and those of our competitors) to provide an excellent student experience by offering the right program

 

Conversion Activities

  • Drive new student enrollments from pipeline of student leads through conversion efforts
  • Execute on tailored conversion activities to drive conversion from salesqualified lead to application, application to confirmation, and confirmation to enrollment via multiple platforms to reach enrollment goals
  • Leverage available tools and develop new tools that move students through the conversion process, including scholarships, student ambassador connections, webinars, testimonials, and campus visits
  • Participate in all kinds of offline events, demos, road shows, etc. and drives for attendees

 

Tracking and Reporting

  • Leverage Salesforce CRM to track assigned students status and progress toward enrollment
  • Create consistent and observable documentation in Salesforce and throughout the student cycle of student engagement, activities, and processes
  • Maintain and update a student pipeline status dashboard to provide the team with ongoing assessment of the health of the student pipeline

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • Proficient in English, Native in Chinese
  • Prior education direct sales/enrolment experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) preferred
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, strong drive for results, pressure-resilient
  • Must possess confident telephone presence
  • Must possess consultative skills and demonstrate ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment

Job Overview
The Partnership Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing new international student recruitment channels for Shorelight programs and partner universities.  New channels may include education consultants and advisors, schools, colleges, universities and other education organisations, and prospective partners from the commercial and government sponsorship sectors.  The PDM will use existing data and their own contacts, experience and research to identify new recruitment channels that align with Shorelight Education values and objectives, conduct pitches and strategic discussions, and establish partnerships that will continue to deliver results for Shorelight Education programs into the future.  The PDM will report to the Associate Regional Director and also work closely with the regional Recruitment Manager and their team.    

Responsibilities

  • With support from colleagues in data analytics and the regional recruitment team, produce an annual plan that aligns with Shorelight Education’s channel expansion objectives
  • Assume responsibility for managing the new channel partner pipeline and accountability for the prospective partner selection process with a view to ensuring the highest chance of partner activation and assured long term results     
  • Lead the initial approach to new prospective channel partners through pitch and strategic discussions/meetings
  • Establish partnerships with new prospective channel partners, through contracts or MoUs as appropriate
  • Though the regional recruitment team will assume the task of account management of any new channel partners signed, the PDM will be expected to actively contribute to the ongoing success of these accounts and provide support as required to ensure tangible and continuing results.  This may include but is not limited to occasional student recruitment events, staff training sessions, product update sessions and senior leadership meetings.  

 Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree – preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations or a related area
  • 3+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in Brazil, preferably with awareness of the international student market for North America 
  • Experience of B2B relationship management with awareness of identifying mutual wins and the importance of building influence 
  • Proven experience in account management and preferably management of a pipeline or sales funnel
  • Experience of working in an organization with targets or defined performance measurements
  • Desire to contribute to long term organizational success and ability to work effectively across different teams and functions

Shorelight Education is seeking to hire a Product Sales Manager to execute a student recruitment strategy across China targeted at international students seeking a US university degree.  The Product Sales position, reporting directly to the Senior Recruitment Manager, National Partners and Products China, will work across all channels to maximize the recruitment efforts in the China for a specific set of Shorelight partner universities.  The Product Sales role is a combination of sales and marketing and will work closely with Shorelight’s in market recruitment teams and partners as well as Shorelight’s marketing and campus based teams. Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include:

 

  • Work across all channels within China to achieve specific targets for a specific set of products
  • Contribute to, and execute on, Shorelight university partner’s broader student recruitment strategies
  • Develop and execute a product specific recruitment plan across China in conjunction with Shorelight regional recruitment and campus teams

  • Work closely with IUA team to develop school network and non-agent channels.
  • Work closely with SL live BD team to develop and sign GSC channels and opportunities.
  • Optimization of regional new channel expansion collaterals and presentations. 
  • Ensure new channel agreement, APP etc., are optimized for revenue and ROI optimization

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 3+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in North China
  • 3+ years of experience in B2B relationship management
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient
  • Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the work team
  • Willingness to travel
  • Existing network and relationships within the education industry in North China; strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs, and products; and US higher education are all pluses
  • Eligibility to work in the hiring location without sponsorship
