Job Overview

The Recruitment Manager (RM) is responsible for executing a student recruitment strategy across India targeted at international students seeking a US university degree. This position will include account management of Shorelight’s country and regional network recruiters, schools and universities along with building and managing direct-to-student marketing campaigns that drive enrolments to Shorelight’s university partners.

This position is based in India and directly reports to the Regional Director, Recruitment, West and South India 

Essential Functions

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Manage key channel accounts and partnerships in India to achieve enrollment targets for all university partnerships
  • Contribute to, and execute on, Shorelight university partner’s student recruitment strategies
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends and reporting on all phases of recruitment process to the Regional Director, South Asia utilizing technology systems
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Travel extensively to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars,conferences, meetings and training events. Build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners and other external institutions and vendors
  • Execute an efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of the recruitment process (inquiry, application, assessment, offer, acceptance, visa applications, orientation, etc.) with strong focus on conversion of inquiries to applications to offers to enrolments
  • Work effectively with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry into the school-or program (working with Finance on incoming deposits, tracking of payments, processing of agent contracts and commissions as necessary, assisting with form completion, coordinating arrival transportation for new incoming students, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 3+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in India
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, strong drive for results, pressure-resilient
  • Proficiency with CRM technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a team-based customer service ethic
  • Willingness and ability to travel both throughout India and the USA as required
  • Experience in organizing pre-departure events and product launches
  • Eligibility to work in the hiring location without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Beneficial to have existing network and relationships within the education industry across India, strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs and products
  • Local language proficiency would be advantageous

Job Overview

The Business Development Manager for Central China will be responsible for execution of an important element of the regional growth strategy, focusing on the regional new channels development, and recovery/expansion of B2B sub-agent network in the region. The role also supports to explore local market demand and drive the existing program optimization and localization, to build network and partnership with local high schools and universities partnership,  driving new business opportunities. The role will be assigned a portfolio of B2B sub-channels and new channel partners to manage and develop towards achievement of an expected revenue target, and the work will require significant cooperation with Regional Recruitment, Product and national Marketing teams to reach the desired level of short term and long-term, consistent channel partner productivity.

 

This position is based in Shanghai and reports directly to the Assosicate Director of Business Development for China.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design of the regional business development growth strategy, and lead on its execution and successful delivery 
  • Lead the initial approach to new channel/partner, then following an agreed engagement process, in collaboration with regional recruitment team, pitch and negotiate through to contract and a sales goal.
  • Ongoing relationship management and maintaining of the new partnerships post-contract.
  • Build relationships with both active and inactive sub-agents within the assigned account portfolio with the aim of raising portfolio-wide levels of performance and provide accurate and timely performance forecasts and introduce tactics to address challenges and any barriers to achievement of target.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Marketing and Product teams to ensure channel partners are given the materials, knowledge and skills needed to reach desired levels of performance
  • Share best practice and take a collegiate approach to working with other members of the business development team in other regions in China, such as providing thoughts and feedback on enrolment trends, industry insights, competitor activity and market environment
  • Devise a researched, measurable method of managing the Shorelight product mix across a range of channel partner profiles and business models, also be able to grasp regional trend and market demand, to contribute the exisiting product optimation and lolication and seize the new business opportunities.
  • Attend and deliver training sessions, information sessions and other similar events to drive and support channel partner performance (will require travel across the assigned region, which will vary based on the season and period within the recruitment cycle)

 

Qualifications, knowledge and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations or a related area
  • 35 years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model

The Digital Marketing Coordinator will work on the development and implementation of the new innovative online platform created by Shorelight technology team, which combines top U.S. institutions info search functionality to best serve international students/ parents and education partners around the globe. This role will support Shorelight new business growth and brand awareness building in China, as well as develop and produce digital contents to be used onto the new sites. The role will be also focusing on content localization, which requires the candidate must have a high proficiency of English and Chinese, writing skills and deep knowledge of U.S. Higher Education system so to develop the right value propositions for Chinese audiences.

To be part of Shorelight local Marketing team, he/she will work closely with Business Development Team and other internal teams – including HQ Marketing, Technology team and various external stakeholders to assist the team to ensure the new sites can be launched on time, supporting to develop the local direct marketing strategy and drive business growth, and optimize performance in China region.

Key Responsibilities

      Content generation and localization based on the existing resources

      To select the appropriate universities’ info/content facing to Chinese audiences, and translate into the local userfriendly languages to target audiences

      To rectify and polish the data/ranking database info provided from HQ for localization purpose

      New sites content creation, update and daily maintenance to ensure the site can be launched successfully in China market, and create a strong local brand into the studyaboard industry

      To monitor the new sites performance and adjust the content based on different enrollment cycles in order to drive the site traffic and new user growth

      Digital marketing campaigns planning and executions, agencies (external vendor) management in all related digital fields

      SEO, SEM, and Media buy strategy, including execution and performance tracking

      Support with leads generation, tracking, analyze and optimization

      Support with leads nurturing campaigns together with Marketing and Business Development team to ensure healthy growth rate

 

 

Qualifications

      Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in marketing, English translation, communications, or related area

      Proficient in English, Native in Chinese

      1-3 years’ tactical marketing experience preferably within international education industry, for fresh graduates with U.S. university degrees can be also considered

      Creative thinker and important abilities to pay attention to details

  • Work effectively with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry into the school or program (working with finance offices on incoming deposits, tracking of payments, processing of agent contracts and commissions, as necessary; assisting incoming students with form completion; coordinating arrival transportation for new, incoming students; etc.)

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 5+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in Central China
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient
  • Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the work team
  • Willingness to travel
  • Existing network and relationships within the education industry in Central China; strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs, and products; and US higher education are all pluses
  • Eligibility to work in the hiring location without sponsorship
