Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Strategic Marketing to help lead the transformation of our marketing function into a student-focused, world class organization. This role will be responsible for shaping global campaign strategy, overseeing content strategy and creation, managing regional marketing campaign strategy, and leading both virtual and in-person event management. This role will also oversee the planning and execution of new go-to-market programs for Shorelight’s brand and university partners, ensuring the alignment of marketing strategies with business goals to drive growth and student success.
The Vice President of Strategic Marketing leads a group of regional marketing team members. He/She/They plays a key role in managing reporting and success metrics against plans, as well as setting up and reporting on feedback loops from students, recruitment, and channel partners.
The Vice President liaises with strategic initiatives within the student acquisition team, and acts as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
The Vice President has a deep working knowledge of Shorelight’s products and consumers to help inform marketing, product development and positioning. This person works cross-departmentally and with external vendors to ensure timely execution of objectives and establishes a robust system for reporting against marketing plans.

Essential Functions
Strategic Leadership
  • Develops and implements comprehensive marketing strategies across regions and various program verticals in collaboration with our channel partners and directly to students.
  • Strategize and help plan a global events strategy and plan for delivery, in partnership with marketing, demand generation, global recruitment, and analytics. 
  • Ability to manage a busy calendar of events and incorporate on stakeholder feedback, budget and timeline constraints.
  • Conducts market research to analyze trends, competition, consumer behavior, shaping the overall marketing approach.
  • Lead a team of marketing directors and managers in charge of execution of marketing activities.
  • Design campaigns that help bring Shorelight programs and universities to 180+ countries.
Analytics and Tracking
  • Track the success of all marketing initiatives and events (though qualitative and quantitative metrics) and report regularly to stakeholders, ensuring a constant feedback and improvement loop to inform investment decisions and ROI. 
  • Own and use metrics and analytics to ensure marketing initiatives are accurately tracked in Salesforce, Marketo, and other Marketing systems.  
Cross-Functional Operations and Leadership
  • Develop and share plans for campaigns, promotions, incentives, and events-related digital marketing, CRM, content and creative support that is required to target, communicate, promote, and deliver marketing initiatives effectively.
  • Lead content strategy designed to help students and channel partners have the right content for their needs – for both print and digital, but also social media and promotions.
  • When required, manage and act as key-point of contact for external consultants (events management experts) and vendors (hotels, catering, exhibitions etc.), including their contracts and payments. 
  • Support planning, logistics, and execution of large-scale familiarization trips.
  • Ensure events materials are correctly branded and contain accurate, up-to-date, product information.
  • Comfortable working across time zones – meetings and events may take place outside of normal working hours.
Security

  • Take responsibility for any Shorelight assets assigned to you.
  • Promptly report any security events, incidents, or weaknesses to Shorelight Security.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years’ marketing management experience
  • Ability to design, plan, and develop marketing strategies across regions
  • Professional experience in a project management
  • Ability to think independently, thoroughly and critically in fast-paced contexts
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders from local, national, and international constituencies
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent ability to communicate with people from a wide variety of cultures and linguistic backgrounds

Job Overview
The Executive Director of Performance Marketing will lead and develop Shorelight’s performance marketing operation. This role will report to the Vice President of Marketing and will be able to lead and grow the team and create a predictable and scalable customer acquisition machine. This role will own the strategy and execution of our performance marketing strategy across digital, paid, SEO, e-mail journey and marketing operation to drive awareness, customer acquisition, and nurturing of our students across Direct-to-Student (DTS) and B2B channels. In partnership with the marketing and sales leadership, this role will also be able to build out the performance marketing team to enhance our ability to acquire and convert the right students to the right university programs.
 
Essential Functions 
Performance Marketing
  • Own our strategy for all media: paid search, paid social and organic campaigns spanning global markets, from conception to execution. 
  • Build and lead a team of experts around the student journey, conversion rate optimization, marketing automation, and campaign development. 
  • Work with our analytics team to develop KPIs, reporting, and a center of excellence for performance marketing.
  • Establish best practices around the use of data and analytics to inform marketing and campaign effectiveness.
  • Work with our Product Marketing and Content teams to develop campaigns appropriate for the right personas – both geographically and product-fit.
  • Responsible for the student journey architecture and creating the best student experience for students prior to arrival on campus.
  • Responsible for marketing automation strategy and tools required to operate a world-class performance marketing team.
  • Responsible for creating reports and analysis around ROI, campaign performance, conversion patterns, and web behavior to help optimize campaigns.
  • Advise and allocate digital marketing budgets related to demand generation and performance marketing.
People Management 
  • Recruit, develop, and retain team members to ensure productivity and engagement.
  • Engage in talent management activities such as goal setting, performance evaluations, stay interviews, development planning, and ongoing feedback to develop team members and achieve organization goals.
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and corrective action (when necessary) to team members.

The Community Manager is responsible for the oversight of Student Ambassadors and the student voice across all Shorelight partner universities. The Community Manager will support Marketing, Analytics, and Recruitment initiatives, with a focus on bringing the authentic student perspective to the forefront of Shorelight’s marketing and prospective student conversion campaigns. 

 

The ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills and is able to quickly develop working partnerships with students. The CM should be a ‘people person’ with great customer service skills and the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our Shorelight community of students.

 

Essential Functions

 

Student Voice

  • Support roll-out and student engagement with Shorelight’s student community platform 
  • Manage student participants in the platform in coordination with the Analytics team and vendor 
  • Build a deep understanding of Shorelight’s student community / customer – understanding what motivates them, interests them, pains them throughout their experience 
  • Support report generation to illustrate findings from research projects within the platform, thereby helping to socialize learnings from the platform to key business stakeholders
  • Advise on incentive ideas to drive engagement and support new project set-up within the community 
  • Design, manage, and help execute interviews with students for Shorelight.com Stories, Student Testimonials, content, and research projects as needed 

 

Social Media 

  • Work directly with Shorelight Marketing leadership to develop social media strategy aligned to growth goals and business needs
  • Support roll-out and student adoption of Avocado app, Shorelight’s new social media app
  • Lead training, ideation, and creation of student-generated social media content across all campuses 
  • Lead incorporation of student-generated content to be used in social media and marketing campaigns in alignment with marketing strategies
  • Report out on success of content as a measurement of overall social media strategy
  • Respond to comments and customer queries on Shorelight social media platforms in a timely and professional manner
  • Embody the voice of Shorelight, monitoring and reporting on feedback and online reviews
  • Escalate issues to internal stakeholders as appropriate
  • Keep up with the latest social media trends (industry news, memes, etc.) and find brand-appropriate ways to incorporate them into content

 

Virtual Events and Outreach

  • Create channels of communication between Shorelight’s Student Ambassador program and regional recruitment teams
  • Organize and prep current students to attend virtual events with prospective students and their parents 
  • Generate new content ideas and assets for use across social channels
  • Train and coordinate students for participation in webinars and other virtual conversion activities 
  • Increase awareness of Shorelight services through current student outreach to prospective students, parents, and channel partners 

 

Cross-Departmental Cooperation

  • Serve as an operational point of contact for: 
    • Campus Operations 
    • Student Acquisition – Global Recruitment 
    • Student Acquisition – Marketing 
    • Student Acquisition – Analytics
  • Manage meetings with campus and recruitment stakeholders and ensure alignment and prioritization around Student Acquisition projects with a focus on conversion

Job Overview

Shorelight’s Marketing Team leverages a variety of standard technologies, such as email, SMS, CRM, and web forms to support marketing automation of the customer lifecycle. 
The Marketing Automation Specialist will support the evolution of the processes and systems used for customer engagement and related workflows of the team’s tech stack. As systems expert, the ideal candidate will support day-to-day operations by developing scalable processes and ensuring that best practices are maintained. Additionally, it is critical that this candidate understand and optimize the movement of data across these systems – namely Marketo, SalesForce and Tableau. The Marketing Automation Specialist will have excellent documentation skills and also be able to communicate and summarize with Engineering, IT, Analytics, and Sales Teams. While this role will sit on the Marketing Team, this role must work cross-functionally to serve as the Marketing representative for various technology and strategy initiatives.

Essential Functions

Day-to-day
  • Work in close partnership with Technology team for oversight and maintenance of marketing systems and enterprise technologies (Marketing Automation/Marketo, SMS, CRM/SalesForce) and integrations between these applications
  •  Provide governance and document processes for use of the Marketo platform. 
  • Develop streamlined campaigns and programs, according to campaign briefs or project plans, in a templated manner with efficiency and global scale in mind
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all technology alignment between Marketing team and other key stakeholders, such as Recruitment, Analytics, Admissions, Enrollment, Campus Operations, and Technology

Trends + Best Practices
  • Proactively explore data to find trends and evaluate new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize marketing team and tool performance 
  • Consult on operational best-practices, providing recommendations on audience targeting and segmentation as well as A/B testing strategies.
  • Develop strategies for monitoring our lead pool, emphasizing ways to quickly identify trends and variations
  • Establish and maintain scalable processes and blueprints that ensure best practices in campaign delivery and lead management
  • Proactively work to identify opportunities to optimize performance, improve data visibility and usage, and create operational efficiencies through process or technology improvements

Reporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Help identify and facilitate potential stories (student profiles, faculty spotlights, etc.) across the Shorelight portfolio for featured content on Shorelight.com
Virtual Events and Digital Engagement
  • Project manage global virtual university fair – manage agenda and support the planning, logistics, and execution of event
  • Support ongoing webinars and digital engagement activities as needed 
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media, journalism, international relations, or related area 
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing

Job Overview

The Product Marketing Coordinator supports the go-to-market planning and execution for new Shorelight universities and programs and will execute a global events plan that will support the successful launch of new products and programs in market and generate new student enrollments.

The Product Marketing Coordinator is a skilled team player who collaborates cross-departmentally with key members of the Shorelight Student Acquisition team, including global marketing, recruitment, and admissions. They will also work directly with product management and university stakeholders, and will coordinate on the marketing strategies for new and existing programs with the goal of increasing applications and new student enrollments.

Essential Functions

Project Management

  • Support the development and execution of go-to-market plans and stakeholder reviews and approvals for new universities and products
  • Coordinate marketing discussions with University stakeholders and product owners during new program launches 
  • Partner with Design and other Shorelight departments to ensure projects, including new university partnerships and go-to-market plans, are on track and on brand
  • Support annual marketing updates for all Shorelight universities
  • Manage execution of global digital marketing campaigns, including email, social media, and virtual events

 

Digital Marketing

  • Manage the development of digital presence for new university products and programs across Shorelight’s digital portfolio, including but not limited to Shorelight website(s), email campaigns, affiliate partnerships, and social media platforms 
  • Lead planning and creation of virtual events for new product launches  
  • Publish and maintain university partnership messaging, branding, and toolkit development content for new university partnerships and products for the first 12 months of university partnership with Shorelight

 

Brand Management

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of all Shorelight partner brands and positioning within the portfolio and support the ongoing defining of unique value propositions
  • Ensure all brands within the Shorelight portfolio are treated according to brand guidelines; monitor usage, identify misuse, and rectify
  • Work directly with university stakeholders to support review and approval of brand updates or changes 
  • Support global student recruitment requests and projects to support engagement with prospective students and global education counselors 

 

Cross-departmental Communications

  • Partner with Product and Implementation teams to ensure alignment on product launch timelines and go to market plans
  • Liaise with University marketing team to facilitate reviews and approvals of marketing collateral and campaigns as needed 
  • Optimize and maintain the Marketing team’s intranet presence and strategy 
  • Build and broadcast important product updates and launch announcements for Program Marketing

Job Overview 
The Director of Paid Media is a key member of the marketing leadership team who develops and oversees paid media efforts for the company. They are an experienced direct response marketer with a background in successfully leading teams focused on revenue growth through paid media strategies and have a track record of direct-to-consumer marketing success. This role would report to the VP of Marketing.
The Director of Paid Media manages paid media strategy including media planning, campaign development and execution, and channel optimization. Working closely with program marketing and demand generation, the role develops and implements paid media (pay per click) strategies, including channel launches, testing objectives, and bidding strategies. 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Maintain and enhance the Shorelight brand portfolio including: Shorelight Corporate, US News Global Education, International University Alliance, and university and digital brands to be used interconnected and independently to deliver value to students and partners
  • Develop and implement direct, scalable multichannel student marketing strategies across international markets 
  • Drive new student enrollment through generating leads via paid media strategy
  • Work with a global team and third-party vendors to develop cutting-edge marketing platforms and execute tactics, including mobile device apps, SEM, SEO, and social media
  • Create ongoing test and learn strategies to scale online marketing initiatives, including search, social, retargeting, behavioral targeting, display, and other tools 
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team and university program marketing teams to tailor segmented go-to-market strategies by school, by channel, by market, and audience
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of marketing experience with 5+ years of paid media experience 
    • experience in international markets a plus
  • Ability to build, lead, and inspire global marketing teams

Job Overview

We are seeking a Marketing Production Manager who will lead and manage the production of content and creative assets across a broad set of marketing touchpoints, including web, email, and print. This individual will oversee capacity planning, project management, and product development, and report to the Senior Director of Creative Services. 
This role will be responsible for working with Marketing leadership to develop and maintain a sustainable system for the planning, prioritization, resource assignment, tracking, and reporting of a series of initiatives and projects that are critical to the success of the Shorelight marketing mission. This individual will work directly with marketing leaders to understand strategic goals balance competing priorities, and across teams of UX designers, content managers, marketing automation managers, and program managers to manage resource capacity. 
Through excellent communication and organization skills, this person will help Shorelight create a positive and productive working environment, where every team member can easily understand the status of all Shorelight marketing team’s active efforts. 
Essential Functions
  • Reports to Sr. Director, Creative to assess incoming initiatives and project priorities across Engagement, Program Marketing, CX, and Creative Services. 
  • Manage and facilitate project development and communication, including stand-ups, check-in meetings, ticket sizing, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Set standards for brief and ensure project scopes and schedules are well defined. Work closely with developers and marketing stakeholders to identify dependencies and milestones. 
  • Track project progress, including team capacity and velocity, and report status back to the leadership team
  • Manage coordination of stakeholder feedback, QA testing, and analytics reporting.
  • Lead the communication of marketing wins, changes, and updates to external teams through our corporate communication channels. 
  • When necessary assist in relationship management with external/internal partners and vendors. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years related experience in project management.
  • Strong experience in digital/interactive project management. 
  • Experience in creative project management
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills. 
  • Ability to motivate, support and work cooperatively within a team. 
  • Experience in defining scope for new products and features, communicating requirements and dependencies, and proactively identifying project roadblocks.
  • Expertise in resolving time-sensitive matters.
  • Expertise in gantt chart applications, bug tracking, issue tracking, and other common project management and common communications tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in a in a digital or software or product development organization.
  • Experience with the development of large-scale websites and a strong understanding of development technologies.
  • Experience with iterative models and methodologies and working with development teams, product owners, and other stakeholders to implement new features.

Job Overview

The Senior Product Marketing Manager (Senior PMM) supports and executes a comprehensive marketing strategy targeted at expanding generating leads, driving conversion, and engaging with students across the full portfolio of Shorelight university partners and programs.  This role develops, project-manages, and delivers campaigns and activities that ensure both Recruitment and Marketing are aligned to generate and close opportunities. The Senior PMM reports to the Director, Product Marketing.

The Senior PMM is an independent and creative thinker who has strong interpersonal skills and leverages those talents to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.  Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail are essential in this role along with outstanding written and oral communication capabilities.

Essential Functions

Partnership Management

  • Lead brand ownership and oversee the marketing of a portfolio of high-profile, high-touch university partnerships
  • Interface directly with Managing Directors and Enrollment Managers across campuses to support new student engagement strategies and initiatives
  • Work with Global Recruitment and Campus Operations to identify focus programs and develop impactful lead generation, conversion, and retention campaigns
  • Provide regular insights to stakeholders into campaign activity and upcoming portfolio initiatives 
  • Manage and traffic incoming brand approval requests ensuring adherence to guidelines and work with campuses, where needed, to approve content. 

Enrollment Growth

  • Initiate content creation and student conversion activities to support new student enrollment at every stage of the student journey
  • Partner with the centralized marketing communications team to manage creation of compelling content and marketing across full portfolio of university partnerships
  • Work with stakeholders to convert qualified leads into applicants and enrolled students, through emails, webinars, and other proactive outreach and communications
  • Partner with global recruitment teams to create marketing collateral, emails, webinars and more tailored to their region and prospective students

Campaign Management

  • Partner with campus leadership to ensure universities are accurately represented in global prospective student conversion campaigns 
  • Coordinate with campus leadership and in-region teams to support delivery of virtual events and webinars for prospective student and B2B audiences
  • Lead conversations with Regional Content Collaborators and Regional Product Specialists to understand regional requirements and execute tailored integrated marketing campaigns 
  • Develop and execute multi-portfolio current and progressed student retention and engagement campaigns
  • Work with conversion campaigns to further students’ journeys and develop best practices on continued optimization within a portfolio of universities

Information and Content Management 

  • Initiate and manage annual marketing collateral updates across all digital, print, and email platforms and project manage ad-hoc information update requests from campus across all digital platforms and print materials
  • Coordinate and optimize campus content creation – working closely with our Content Manager, the Senior Product Marketing Manager will facilitate the collection and development of campus content – including but not limited to Student Testimonials, Student Success Stories, and Campus/University Interest Stories
  • Ensure that all universities differentiated within the Shorelight portfolio and their marketing materials highlight the differences and benefits of each

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media, journalism, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing
  • Fluent in social media marketing and email marketing
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects with similar deadlines and working across departments and stakeholders to generate consensus  
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Marketing experience in an advertising agency or a similar company managing multiple brands
  • Interest in or experience with international cultures, travel, or students
  • Demonstrated photography and/or videography skills
  • Proficiency in technology to support marketing strategies
  • Experience or interest in university/education marketing
  • Familiarity with GoogleAnalytics and email management systems
