Job Overview

The Financial Operations Coordinator provides overall administrative and operational support to a portfolio of partnerships.  This role interacts with the program’s staff, university’s staff, and students.  The Financial Operations Coordinator is the main point of contact for all students’ account inquiries.  This role reports to the Financial Operations Manager.

 

The Financial Operations Coordinator is customer service oriented who is highly organized with strong attention to detail.  He/She/They has excellent oral and written communication skills, is comfortable multitasking, changing priorities to fit business needs, and manages time efficiently.

 

Essential Functions

Finance and Administrative Support

  • Monitor Finance inboxes to address all student queries related to refunds, student account balances, statement of fees, and private loans and ensuring the inboxes are organized and solutions are provided in timely manner
  • Serve as the campus point of contact for students and others on billing and payment issues
  • Process student payments into PaySimple and Flywire
  • Evaluate student accounts for refund eligibility and work with students directly to obtain accurate and complete refund information
  • Initiate student refunds
  • Support the Financial Operations Manager in collaborating with partnership teams on all student-facing initiatives
  • Support the Financial Operations Manager in monitoring accounts receivable balances and conduct regularly scheduled meetings with campus teams for analysis and to confirm holds or equivalents are in place
  • Collaborate with Financial Operations Manager and Director, Partner Operations- Financial Operations on scheduled payment collection campaigns
  • Prepare and submit sponsor billing
  • Generate statement of fees for students on campus as requested
  • Assist in confirmation of quarterly deposit revenue analysis and quarterly bad debt analysis
  • Monitor misdirected payments between Shorelight Partnerships and Universities and request transfer of funds when necessary

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • 1+ years of experience in finance or accounting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel
  • Eligibility to work and travel in the United States without sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of office management experience
  • Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software

Essential Functions

Finance and Accounting Support

  • Serve as the escalated point of contact for students and others on billing and payment issues
  • Ensure student payments are processed into PaySimple and Flywire
  • Evaluate student accounts for refund eligibility and work with students directly to obtain accurate and complete refund information
  • Ensure student refunds are initiated in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with partnership teams on all student-facing financial initiatives
  • Monitor accounts receivable balances and conduct regularly scheduled meetings with campus teams for analysis and to confirm holds or equivalents are in place
  • Ensure that holds/registration prevention metrics are in order for all past due accounts
  • Collaborate with Director, Partner Operations – Financial Operations on scheduled payment collection campaigns
  • Prepare and submit sponsor billing
  • Ensure statement of fees for students on campus are generated accurately
  • Lead in confirmation of quarterly deposit revenue analysis and quarterly bad debt analysis
  • Monitor misdirected payments between Shorelight Partnerships and Universities and request transfer of funds when necessary
  • Liaise with stakeholders on collections, data accuracy, and monitoring discrepancies between student account balances in Salesforce and NetSuite

 

Administrative Support

  • Build and manage reporting for greater collections visibility and accountability at the campus level
  • Lead efforts to monitor data integrity by ensuring stakeholders have visibility into accounts receivable balances, refund processing status, and support the improvement of refund process
  • Prepare weekly accounts receivable analysis reports
  • Ensure finance inboxes are well monitored and all student queries related to refunds, student account balances, statement of fees, and private loans are addressed in a timely manner
  • Bridge the gap between stakeholders in finance and on campus teams to ensure efficient communication of needs and requirements of reporting are met

 

People Management

  • Recruit, develop, and retain team members to ensure productivity and engagement
  • Engage in talent management activities such as goal setting, performance evaluations, stay interviews, development planning, and ongoing feedback to develop team members and achieve organization goals
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and corrective action (when necessary) to team members
  • Foster a culture that reflects Shorelight’s values

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting
  • 1+ years of experience managing people

  • Identify and communicate on market trends seen by the DTS team to promote better campaigns from MKT and increase conversions from the entire DTS team
  • Follow up on Soft Denials and actively promote best practices to increase the conversion rate of this channel
  • Consistently work with current tools such as Salesforce and Tableau and indicate ways to streamline team usage
  • Generate new activities with referred students and their families. Identify Student/parent ambassadors in market to help us promote our programs

 

Student Lead Management

 

  • Contribute to the growth of the business and to new student enrollments by assessing potential applicants and determine if they are qualified to apply and enroll in various academic programs
  • Collaborate regularly with real-time feedback loops with LATAM digital marketing manager and recruitment team on digital campaigns, messaging, lead volume, and lead conversion activities
  • Use a consultative sales approach to guide and support prospective students through the enrollment process

The Assistant Partnership Manager develops and executes a multichannel student recruitment strategy for his or her region, targeted at international students currently studying in the Latin America who seek U.S. university degrees or partnered with advisors in the United States and sourcing from overseas. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 3–5 years of experience in a successful sales role

Job Overview

The Assistant Partnership Manager develops and executes a multichannel student recruitment strategy for his or her region, targeted at international students currently studying in the Latin America who seek U.S. university degrees or partnered with advisors in the United States and sourcing from overseas. Meeting this goal includes developing new or expanding on existing partnerships with high schools, language schools, agencies, sponsors, and other university feeder programs along with contributing to marketing and conversion campaigns that drive enrollments to Shorelight’s university partners (https://partners.shorelight.com/). The individual in this position also takes an active role in training, developing, and managing Shorelight’s key accounts in the region, inclusive of marketing initiatives to raise the profile of our university partners

Essential Functions

  • Design and execute market-specific student recruitment strategies that focus on developing and managing a network of high schools, agencies, and other feeder networks
  • Build, source and manage key accounts to achieve enrollment targets for all university partnerships
  • Establish rapport and build strong relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, partners, and other external institutions and vendors
  • Leverage technology to support a data-driven approach to recruitment
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness and market intelligence
  • Work effectively across Shorelight teams to ensure smooth entry into the school or program, such as working with Admissions on student assessment, Marketing on campaigns, and Enrollment Services on immigration and arrival
  • Travel within territory with occasional cross regional travel, attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to assist key accounts and student pipeline management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 3–5 years of experience in a successful sales role
  • Must be highly motivated, creative and flexible.
  • Demonstrated success managing a full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing
  • A proven track record of achieving measurable results in a fast-paced, data and deadline-driven department
  • Expertise in utilizing creative problem-solving skills to overcome any obstacles while guiding potential students through the university admissions process 
  • Adept at working collaboratively with remote teams
  • Strategic-minded and self-motivated, with a strong drive for results
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Proficiency with relevant technologies, such as CRMs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
