We’re looking for an undergraduate or graduate student to join our internship program who is mission-driven and passionate about helping students across the world access great universities and succeed. In addition to working closely with a Shorelight mentor on meaningful project work, students have opportunities to interact with team members across the organization, join meetings and events, and participate in professional development opportunities. 

The intern will report to the Marketing Manager and will gain hands-on experience working in the international education industry. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in marketing, communication, public relations or a related field. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with website maintenance, updates and SEO using WordPress, in addition, analyzing traffic data using Google Analytics
  • Develop a comprehensive social media and blog plan for university partners
  • Develop content for specific marketing materials for the purpose of recruiting students internationally
  • Assist the marketing team in trafficking projects through design and web
  • Assist administrative work in our digital asset management system and analyzing traffic data using analytics tool

Qualifications

  • Interest in global educational issues including student access and success 
  • Must have experience using the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Google Analytics, WordPress and SEO is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Overview

The Software Engineer supports the development and delivery of Web-based applications, Salesforce extensions, and integration of third-party tools into Shorelight’s ecosystem. Essential Functions

  • Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions across the full-stack of development tools and technologies.

  • Participate in peer code reviews, knowledge sharing, and assist other engineers in their work.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of professional experience developing cloud-based, high-availability applications utilizing JavaScript, Java, and related frameworks and technologies.
  • Proficiency with client-side JavaScript frameworks (preferably React.js/Redux).
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs using Microservices architecture, and middle tier coding in Node.js and/or Java.
  • Familiarity with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, ElasticSearch).
  • Experience delivering products using Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills and strong attention to details.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

U.S. Onshore Operations Coordinator

Job Overview

The U.S. Onshore Operations Coordinator provides key operational support to the Senior Operations Manager and Regional Director. The U.S. Onshore Operations Coordinator serves as the liaison and primary point person in all internal operational matters. He or she handles day-to-day operations in the areas of data analysis, budget and operating reports, global and regional initiatives, new business development, admissions, enrollment services, and administrative. This individual is positioned as a go-to person within the operations team with the necessary autonomy to make decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Data Analysis

  • Analyze data on student demographics, channel partner performance, recruitment performance, and melt management, with the goal of using data analysis to constantly improve our business
  • Ensure data is precise and conclusions are correct before sharing with stakeholders, who depend on accurate data on which to base their business decisions

Department Budget and Operating Reports

  • Provide transparency into expenses against budget regularly throughout the fiscal year

Administrative

  • Maintain the USO Marketing closet
  • Create an inventory system that tracks all USO materials and items that are shipped to recruitment team members or channel partners
  • Center regional communications efforts on what is available for campus visits, college fairs, and agent visits
  • Create a process in which recruitment team can submit pre-event requests
  • Maintain critical partner agreements and ensure complete compliance before working with a new partner
  • Ensure all new partners receive welcome packages, required print materials, and onboarding instructions (for online training)

New Business Development

  • Assist recruitment in identifying new business opportunities in high school and agent channels
  • Ensure that all partners are properly assigned with appropriate team members in Salesforce

Global and Regional Initiatives

  • Track and monitor global and regional campaigns, as needed
  • Report on campaign successes and potential issues, as needed

Admissions

  • During peak season (May–June), collaborate with global admissions teams to supportapplication processing
  • Track and prepare reports that identify applications that are not converting to offers and help identify potential solutions to overcome conversion challenges

Enrollment Services

  • During peak season (June–September), leverage Salesforce to track assigned students’ status and progress toward enrollment
  • Create consistent and observable documentation in Salesforce and throughout the student cycle of student engagement, activities, and processes
  • Maintain and keep updated an ongoing student pipeline status dashboard to provide ongoing updates and reports to the team on the health of the student pipeline

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years operations and project management experience supporting managerial-level staff
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent small to large projects spanning multiple functional areas
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to both multitask and focus on details

The Accounting Manager, Financial Systems, coordinates new technology projects and reviews and updates current processes relating to student accounts using technology such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Student Payment Portal, AvidXchange, Adaptive, Tableau, Certify, and Merchant Banking. This individual liaises between Finance and all other departments regarding new technology initiatives affecting student accounts. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, Campus Operations, this role reviews monthly profit and loss and balance sheets financial statements for several campus locations. This role significantly contributes to the creation, review, and training of staff on all Finance Department policies.

Essential Functions

Financial Systems

  • Serve as primary point person between Finance and all other departments for technology initiatives, improvements, and updates, as related to student accounts in Salesforce and NetSuite
  • Communicate updates and changes regarding student accounts to the finance team
  • Support Operations, Finance, and IT in the review, update, testing, and rollout of the annual PriceBook in Salesforce
  • Serve as contact for launch readiness meetings and updates on new campus implementations
  • Facilitate meetings between IT and appropriate members of Finance during Salesforce changes and upgrades
  • Assist management and IT with planning, implementation, and rollout of a student payment portal
  • Coordinate and communicate with Admissions, Operations, Enrollment Services, and Marketing on updates relating to student accounts and statement of fees

University Financials

  • Work with Finance to drive continuous improvement in the timeliness and accuracy of the month-end close process
  • Apply a detail-oriented review of all balance sheets reconciliations for assigned campus locations
  • Collaborate with finance management to develop training protocols for new and existing team members to follow

Revenue and Corporate Operations

  • Partner with IT to develop efficiencies in reconciling student data between NetSuite and Salesforce
  • Assist in all aspects of the annual external and internal audit(s) and manage special projects to achieve both company and finance team goals
  • Work with finance management to review, develop, and implement internal control policies for the Finance Department

People Management

  • Recruit, develop, and retain team members to ensure productivity and engagement
  • Engage in talent management activities such as goal setting, performance evaluations, stay interviews, development planning, and ongoing feedback to develop team members and achieve organization goals
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and corrective action (when necessary) to team members
  • Foster a culture that reflects Shorelight’s values

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Strong academic background in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years of previous experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team

Job Overview

The Relationship Manager, Sponsor Operations (MSO), develops and executes all sponsored student operations that drive bookings, arrivals, and campus success. The MSO works closely with Admissions, Recruitment, Enrollment Services, Campus Operations, IT, and Shorelight’s global recruitment training team to ensure maximum NSEs and retentions. Measures of success for this role include the ability to generate and implement technology-focused operational solutions, support for and success of the recruitment team in their generation of NSEs, and systemic improvements to our IT systems to maintain Shorelight’s above-average retention record. The position directly reports to the Director of Global Sponsor Relations, with a dotted line to the Vice President, Enrollment Management.


Essential Functions

    • Lead and implement the strategy for enrollment management processes as they relate to the sponsored student population across Shorelight partners

    • Oversee biweekly meetings with the designated sponsored student team leads to update on relevant changes and information about sponsored student policies as they affect campus partners
    • Provide support to admissions as a bridge to recruitment, actioning detailed clarifications and follow up for individual students
    • Expand and implement sponsor orientation programs on a semesterly basis across all partners, including arrival support as needed
    • Partner with Shorelight’s global marketing team in producing all marketing materials relevant to sponsored students
    • Provide daily support for sponsored student team leads and sponsored student directors

 Data Management

  • Oversee the auditing and Salesforce optimization of academic study plans for sponsored students
  • Develop current systems to support academic reporting for sponsored students
  • Advocate for sponsored students in the development of new Salesforce processes
  • Develop, build, and implement accurate sponsored tracking using Salesforce and Tableau to ensure clear visibility throughout the sponsored student pipeline to all stakeholders
  • Maintain data accuracy and accessibility
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence

 People Management

    • Train new and existing hires on all aspects of sponsored student recruitment and retention
    • Analyze data to provide ongoing weekly updates, reports, and forecasts to the recruitment team
    • Be the point of information and clarity on all sponsored student recruitment process questions
    • Liaise between recruitment and campus as relates to NSEs
    • Develop or update memorandum of understanding with sponsoring bodies to receive sponsorship approval
    • Liaise with sponsoring bodies and academic advisors to continue to build relationships
    • Continually advocate recruitment by developing operations and policies that successfully recruit sponsored students

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 3+ years experience working in the field of sponsors with international students
    • Demonstrated communication ability with external sponsoring organizations, attainment of goals and development of relationships
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to work in an autonomous environment and lead strategic discussions and presentations
    • Experience recruiting, leading, motivating, and retaining staff
    • Eligibility to work in and travel freely to and from the United States without sponsorship
