Job Overview

The Manager, Sponsor Operations (MSO), develops and executes all sponsored student operations that drive bookings, arrivals, and campus success. The MSO works closely with Admissions, Recruitment, Enrollment Services, Campus Operations, IT, and Shorelight’s global recruitment training team to ensure maximum NSEs and retentions. Measures of success for this role include the ability to generate and implement technology-focused operational solutions, support for and success of the recruitment team in their generation of NSEs, and systemic improvements to our IT systems to maintain Shorelight’s above-average retention record. The position directly reports to the Director of Global Sponsor Relations, with a dotted line to the Vice President, Enrollment Management.


Essential Functions

    • Lead and implement the strategy for enrollment management processes as they relate to the sponsored student population across Shorelight partners
    • Track and analyze application and admissions data to identify trends and operationalize solutions
    • Act as the point person to navigate and resolve sponsored student specific roadblocks at the top of the admissions funnel
    • Develop and implement Enrollment Services strategies and policies as they relate to the unique needs of sponsored students
    • Demonstrate expertise on sponsored students throughout the admissions and enrollment services pipeline
    • Co-chair the Sponsored Student Steering Committee as it relates to sponsored student operations

 Campus Operations

    • Collaborate with the Director of Global Sponsor Relations to maintain best practices for on-campus social and religious accommodations
    • Oversee biweekly meetings with the designated sponsored student team leads to update on relevant changes and information about sponsored student policies as they affect campus partners
    • Provide support to admissions as a bridge to recruitment, actioning detailed clarifications and follow up for individual students
    • Expand and implement sponsor orientation programs on a semesterly basis across all partners, including arrival support as needed
    • Partner with Shorelight’s global marketing team in producing all marketing materials relevant to sponsored students
    • Provide daily support for sponsored student team leads and sponsored student directors

 Data Management

  • Oversee the auditing and Salesforce optimization of academic study plans for sponsored students
  • Develop current systems to support academic reporting for sponsored students
  • Advocate for sponsored students in the development of new Salesforce processes
  • Develop, build, and implement accurate sponsored tracking using Salesforce and Tableau to ensure clear visibility throughout the sponsored student pipeline to all stakeholders
  • Maintain data accuracy and accessibility
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence

 People Management

    • Train new and existing hires on all aspects of sponsored student recruitment and retention
    • Analyze data to provide ongoing weekly updates, reports, and forecasts to the recruitment team
    • Be the point of information and clarity on all sponsored student recruitment process questions
    • Liaise between recruitment and campus as relates to NSEs
    • Develop or update memorandum of understanding with sponsoring bodies to receive sponsorship approval
    • Liaise with sponsoring bodies and academic advisors to continue to build relationships
    • Continually advocate recruitment by developing operations and policies that successfully recruit sponsored students

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 3+ years experience working in the field of sponsors with international students
    • Demonstrated communication ability with external sponsoring organizations, attainment of goals and development of relationships
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to work in an autonomous environment and lead strategic discussions and presentations
    • Experience recruiting, leading, motivating, and retaining staff
    • Eligibility to work in and travel freely to and from the United States without sponsorship

Job Overview

The Manager, Campus Admissions Operations supports the growth and optimization of the campus admissions function on each of Shorelight’s partner campuses.  Reporting to the Director of Campus Admissions Operations, the Manager, Campus Admissions Operations is a key liaison to all campus admissions staff across Shorelight’s partner portfolio.  This role monitors and supports the health and functionality of each campus admissions operation and develops best practices across the portfolio.  The individual in this position is a self-directed professional with excellent problem-solving, communication, and detail-oriented skills. 

Essential Functions

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Enrollment Management (40%)
    • Work collaboratively with the campus admissions operations team to track and measure department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to quantify and qualify admissions performance against Academic Year and Fiscal Year strategic goals.
    • Utilize both Salesforce and Tableau to develop and maintain transparent data for both internal workflow and external university facing reporting.
    • Collaborate with Salesforce product team and cross-functional partners to ensure data integrity is maintained to support all campus admissions operations reporting requirements
    • Ensure that workflows and processes can be actively recorded and tracked in the system to ensure data accessibility and reduce manual data use outside Salesforce
    • Develop and execute operational standards to ensure optimal functioning and efficiencies of all campus admissions teams, including process planning, outcome management, and effective communication flow
  • Campus Operational Processing (20%)
    • Cultivate cross-departmental relationships to ensure continuity in campus admissions support throughout the student lifecycle
    • Coordinate informational updates across campuses; develop and manage enhanced admission services across all partnerships
    • Support the ownership of the master admissions requirements and policy that governs departmental (campus, central, and global) admissions operations across all partnerships
    • Assess current admission policy and procedures on each campus to align admission requirements and processes across the portfolio that will encourage partner growth and sustainability
    • Draft efficient admission policy and procedures leveraged through an accessible knowledge base for sharing partnership-wide best practices; manage this knowledge database for continued use by campus admissions and collaboration with recruitment and implementation
  • Sponsored Student Operations (40%)

The Enrollment Management Specialist supports a student’s journey throughout the admissions lifecycle. This includes evaluating students’ academic records, collecting and reviewing admissions documents for completion, visa preparation and counseling, and other pre-arrival conversion activities in the U.S. Onshore region. Based in Boston, the Enrollment Management Specialist works as part of a highly motivated professional team and is responsible for supporting the conversion of applicants to new student enrollment for our University partners.

This position collaborates with colleagues within the enrollment management team, recruiters/sales teams, and Shorelight’s university campus teams to provide a student-focused, high-touch, signature learning, and service experience that leads to student conversion. Measures of success for this role include the ability to drive conversion from application submission to deposit and enrollment, achieving a high rate of application completion, pre-payment, visa issuance, and on-time arrival to campuses, while maintaining quality and service delivery expectations. This service and support role requires engaging with applicants, parents, and agents via online chat platform, email, and telephone daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Evaluation and Support
    • Evaluate academic credentials, English proficiency, and standardized test scores against partner programs’ admissions requirements to determine opportunities for a students’ admissibility
    • Render decisions and redirect students to other programs where they may be admissible
    • Review and collect all application document requirements
    • Maintain high-quality review standards while meeting service delivery deadlines
    • Work with colleagues in Global Enrollment Management to support continuous process and policy improvement for all programs
    • Maintain application data in Salesforce; use views and reports to track production and individual performance
    • Collaborate with team and cross-functional colleagues to support and achieve monthly and annual organizational target goals 
  • I-20 and Visa Preparation
    • Collaborate closely with agents and admissions and recruitment teams for all confirmed students to ensure efficient completion of required documents to achieve I-20s for students
    • Provide a comprehensive visa preparation service to students and agents, including regular presentations to agencies, sharing of tips and best practices, and mock interviews with students to achieve a 95%+ visa issuance rate
    • Track and analyze visa appointments, embassy processing times, and student interview feedback to continuously enhance and adapt visa preparation according to current trends and insights
  • Pre-Departure Process and Activity Management
    • Manage and facilitate an engaging and informative pre-departure concierge service for students, parents, and agencies
    • Participate with the planning and implementation of pre-departure events (online and offline)
    • Ensure students’ financial obligations are met by facilitating payments of tuition and other associated fees before departure
    • Ensure students complete and submit pre-arrival documentation to campuses, with a focus on the transportation form, so campus teams can effectively manage the arrival process
    • Work with recruitment team, students, and agencies to ensure on-time arrival of students to campus for orientation
    • Serve as the main point of contact for all sub-regional agents and students in the pre-arrival phase
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Provide key partner’s VIP service, including customized reports, regular update of student application progress, and in-agent office visits
    • Analyze data to provide ongoing weekly updates, reports, and forecasts to the Enrollment Services Manager and regional team for all students
    • Be the point of information and clarity on all conversion activities and student status
  • Stakeholder/Student Family Engagement and Management
    • Manage and maintain regional agent/student online enquiry platforms
    • Build a strong rapport with students, parents, channel partners, partner campus teams, admissions, and any other key stakeholders
    • Maintain a database of assigned students to track their status and progress toward arrival
    • Act as key contact for the campus student services teams post-arrival to help communicate with channel partners/parents to assist with any follow-on activities post-enrollment (e.g., student attendance, performance)

Minimum Qualifications

Marketing is an essential support for program promotion and community relations at Shorelight. Marketing

  • Capture and share content for social media platforms such as highlights and key moments for events as determined by the Career Accelerator team

Data Analytics

  • Review and update the current database of Leadership Development Programs/ Graduate Recruitment Programs to identify and catalog important recruitment procedures and application deadlines

Support

  • Identify key industry contacts and contact details (where possible) for each university program

The Product Development and Management Intern supports the development of undergraduate products and programs across our existing undergraduate partners, as well as any new partnerships launching throughout the year. Essential Functions

Competitive and Product Analyses

  • Lead and partner with analytics to develop a suite of product-level Tableau and Salesforce reports, which will serve as the foundation of product strategy development
  • Assist in the development of partnership analyses, a full university-facing report that combines product, marketing, and competitive analysis to inform future product and marketing recommendations
  • Establish competitive reporting that allows for cross-functional reach across academics, partner operations, student services, global recruitment, and product sales; this will serve as a major input to product strategy development
  • Develop opportunity assessments across educational pathway programs/products, as well as university-level assessments to help inform our global sales strategy; identify 3–5 key areas in which Shorelight should be playing and winning
  • Assist in the development of portfolio programs (i.e., Shorelight English) that allow us to maximize our offerings across all partners and subsequently contribute to product marketing strategies
  • Team up with partner operations, global recruitment, product management, and finance to assist in the development of product-level forecasting and pricing modeling

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Master’s degree (MBA, MFA, Data Analytics or similar field)
  • Experience in analytics
  • Eligibility to work in and travel freely to and from the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in education or international recruitment
  • Experience in program evaluation and assessment
  • Experience in working in Salesforce and/or Tableau
