Job Overview

Shorelight is seeking to hire a Deputy Recruitment Manager, assists in executing a student recruitment strategy across Central China targeted at international students seeking U.S. university degrees.  The role includes account management of Shorelight’s country or regional network of recruiters, schools, and universities along with building and managing channel marketing campaigns that drive enrollments to Shorelight’s university partners

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Shorelight’s university partners student recruitment strategies, partnering with the Recruitment Manager as well as Shorelight’s Global Marketing Team for all marketing and advertising strategies and collateral
  • Assists the Regional Manager to manage the Central China recruitment team in an efficient way
  • Working closely with the Regional Manager to manage key channel accounts and partnerships to achieve enrollment targets for Central China region.
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends, and reporting on all phases of recruitment process to the Recruitment Manager, using technology systems
  • Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
  • Coordinate and attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty, staff, agents, partners, and other external institutions and vendors
  • Assists the Regional Manager and work with Admissions and Enrollment Services team to execute efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of the recruitment process (inquiry, application, assessment, offer, acceptance, visa applications, orientation, etc.) with a strong focus on conversion of inquiries to applications
  • Work effectively with the university liaisons to ensure smooth entry into the school or program (working with finance offices on incoming deposits, tracking of payments, processing of agent contracts and commissions, as necessary; assisting incoming students with form completion; coordinating arrival transportation for new, incoming students; etc.)

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 5+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in Central China
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient
  • Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Essential Functions

Admissions Data Management & Integrity

  • Receive applications and documents from students/agents
  • Review applications, transcripts, and other documents required for international student admissions and evaluate academic and English credentials to determine admissibility to University programs; render decisions on student’s admissibility
  • Advise agents/students/internal team members on admissions requirements; provide support to enable completion of application
  • Input and maintain data into Shorelight’s and Partner University’s CRM/EM systems
  • Review daily reports to manage workflow and ensure processing of applications and offers are meeting required deadlines
  • Collect and verify I-20/financial documents; liaise with University PDSO to issue I-20
  • Prepare acceptance packet
  • Develop and run data reports for routine reporting to relevant stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Administrative Support

  • Support the Academic and Student Services Directors by assisting with pre-arrival processes and documentation, including partner and student inquiries
  • Review and coordinate mail and documentation on a daily basis
  • Respond to e-mail and phone inquiries
  • Assist with webinars for future students
  • Process requests for information packets and prepare mailings to prospective students
  • Participate in staff meetings

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, international education, or related field
  • 2+ years Admissions experience, including working knowledge of university admissions processes
  • Knowledge of international student services within a higher education setting
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate and accomplish work goals 
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Ability to think independently, thoroughly, and critically in fast-paced contexts

  • Work closely with DRD/ DRMs of Regional Recruitment to target on the growing cities/regions for the major channels’ numbers activation and maximation, be able to monitor and give analysis in region performance and recruitment trend, as well as recruitment effort ROI tracking, finding risk areas and provide solutions.
  • Work closely with National product team, to deliver counsellor training to Shorelight partners in the region as needed
  • Accountable for providing first hand feedback to National product team on market conditions, recruitment activities, marketing campaigns and suggestions for further product optimization
  • Work closely with Business Development team to seize the new channels expansion opportunity for the assigned program (s).
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to the recruitment, monitoring overall enrollment trends, and reporting on all phases of recruitment process, by leveraging systems and technology.
  • Execute efficient and streamlined processes for all stages of recruitment process with a strong focus on improving all levels of conversion %, from the top funnel applications building up until the final enrollments. 
  • Travel extensively to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective students, families, channel agents, school partners, and other external institutions and vendors.
  • Act as strong contributor to the region to design and execute regional focused products/ regions/ channels strategies
  • Team communication – proactive, transparent and efficient communication across team members, to avoid repetitive and overlapped effort, and mis-understandings.

 

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry

The Enrollment Counselor leads and executes our lead management and conversion activities in the Great China region, targeting Chinese senior students or working adults who seek U.S. university Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The Enrollment Advisor works as part of a highly motivated professional team and is responsible for D2C lead management and conversion of new students and for achieving monthly and yearly enrollment targets.

The role focuses on engaging with, advising, and supporting qualified international students in achieving their academic goals by enrolling them in one of Shorelight’s university partners’ programs. This position works closely with marketing/D2C teams to provide student-focused, optimal learning experiences and services that lead to student conversion.  Measures of success include driving raw leads to applications, converting offers to deposits and deposits to enrollments, and participating in offline events and drives for attendance. A large proportion of this sales and service role involves daily contact with applicants and parents via online chat platforms, email, and telephone.

Essential Functions

Student Lead Management

  • Contribute to the growth of the business and to new student enrollments by assessing potential applicants and determining their eligibility to apply and enroll in various academic programs
  • Collaborate regularly with China Digital Marketing via real-time feedback loops
  • Manage digital campaigns, messaging, lead volume, and lead conversion activities
  • Use a consultative sales approach to guide and support prospective students through the enrollment process
  • Receive and follow up on potential students via phone, email, social media, and, where beneficial and feasible, in person
  • Build rapport and provide guidance for students interested in obtaining a degree or certificate program based on prospective student’s desired goals or career interest

Conversion Activities

  • Drive new student enrollments from pipeline of student leads through conversion efforts

  • Leverage available tools and develop new tools that move students through the conversion process, including scholarships, student ambassador connections, webinars, testimonials, and campus visits

Tracking and Reporting

  • Leverage Salesforce CRM to track assigned students’ status and progress toward enrollment
  • Create consistent and observable documentation in Salesforce and throughout the student cycle of student engagement, activities, and processes
  • Maintain and update a student pipeline status dashboard to provide the team with ongoing assessment of the health of the student pipeline

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above

Essential Functions

Employees expense

  • Conduct compliance reviews of expense reports submitted by employees and ensure that qualified supporting documents are received and properly filed.

The Senior Accountant plays a leadership role within the global Finance team headquartered in Boston.  Reporting to the Director of Technical Accounting in Boston and the VP of China in Shanghai, the Senior Accountant is responsible for all local accounting operations in China.  The Senior Accountant will manage an Accounts Payable Specialist and lead the transition from the current outsourced accounting service model to a fully functioning in house accounting team

 

Essential Functions

Financial operations

  • Collaborate with local staff and the team in Boston to drive continuous improvement in the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly financial close process.
  • Manage the local payroll and accounts payable operations to ensure the Company’s vendor and employee payment obligations are completed on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Complete implementation of the Concur platform for the reimbursement of employee expenses
  • Work with the Corporate Controller to develop a robust internal control environment and ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements. 
  • Promote the professional development of the accounting staff and help to build a culture characterized by teamwork, accountability, and a customer service mentality 

 

Financial reporting

  • Partner with the Corporate Controller and the financial planning and analysis team to support all financial reporting tasks including monthly budget to actual analyses. 
  • Assist in special projects and successful completion of the annual audit. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong academic background in accounting & finance, at least 5 years of previous experience, and a minimum of 2 years of people management experience.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to drive them through to completion
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA equivalent
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Concur a plus
