Job Overview
The Senior Software Engineer is a major contributor to development and delivery of Web-based applications and integration of third-party tools into Shorelight’s ecosystem. This role will work across the full stack (HTML5/CSS3, React.js/Redux, Node.js, Java, Python), leveraging the latest technologies to deliver top-notch technical solutions that excite our customers. The Senior Software Engineer has excellent oral and written communication skills, solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, and pays close attention to detail. He/She/They are comfortable multitasking, changing priorities as needed, and managing time efficiently. This role reports to the Software Engineering Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions across the full-stack of development tools and technologies
  • Work closely with Product Management to understand end-user requirements and translate them into high-quality, timely deliverables
  • Participate in peer code reviews, knowledge sharing, and assist other engineers in their work
  • Document Development phases and Monitor systems in place including keeping integrations are up-to-date
  • Assist in development/coding task planning, estimation, and scheduling
  • Continuously improve software engineering practices and standards
  • Explore and evaluate new and emerging software tools and technologies. Bring fresh ideas that can benefit the project
  • Comply with Shorelight Written Information Security Policy, and all other Shorelight Information Security Policies and Procedures. Promptly report any security events, incidents, or weaknesses to Shorelight Security
  • Take responsibility for any Shorelight assets assigned to you

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing cloud-based, high-availability applications utilizing JavaScript, Java, and related frameworks and technologies
  • High proficiency with client-side JavaScript frameworks
  • Solid knowledge of developing application, tools, and integrations with Python
  • Strong experience designing RESTful APIs using Microservices architecture, and middle tier coding in Node.js and/or Java
  • Experience with variety of SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, ElasticSearch)
  • Experience delivering products using Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Eligible to work and travel in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience integrating with Salesforce or similar CRM products to develop client or business solutions
  • Familiarity with DevOps tooling for development (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)

Job Overview

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer validates solutions within Shorelight’s applications. This role is integral throughout the development lifecycle, the core functions being requirements and solution analysis, testing of new and modified functionality,  providing Automated and Manual Testing solutions and support of user acceptance testing. The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager.

Essential Functions

Quality Assurance

  • Provide estimates for testing activities
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Identify, record, thoroughly document, and track bugs
  • Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and execute testing activities
  • Support and facilitate user acceptance testing
  • Create and maintain Automation Testing solutions
  • Participate fully in our Agile/Scrum development process
  • Collaborate with the development team and business partners to ensure requirements compliance, determine release readiness, and triage defects discovered in the field

Project Management

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of testing projects, including planning, assessment, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of solutions
  • Coordinate testing effort in Swarm session with team
  • Create test plans with detailed test cases and execute projects using Agile to ensure the project is delivered on time and aligned with customer expectations 
  • Monitor and document test milestones and outcomes throughout the testing lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards
  • Conduct team meetings and situational analysis regularly to ensure appropriate communication to all stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related subject
  • 3+ years of experience as Software QA/QE testing multi-tier, Client/web, frontend , backend and DB applications
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Programming skills in one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C# or Java)
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum
  • Experience with setting up testing process, including risk management regarding testing
  • Eligibility to work in, and travel freely to and from, the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related subject

Job Overview 

The Technical Support Manager oversees all the desktop and technology support for our team members and external customers. This role manages the internal and external facing support teams, prioritizes their work, and ensures the team meets our SLAs. He/She/They manage all software and hardware purchasing to support new hires as well as maintain ongoing inventory of consumables. The Technical Support Manager will be the subject matter expert in several of the internal solutions used within the organization.

Essential Functions   Technical Support 

  • Manage a global team of support engineers and technicians as well as recruit and train new members.
  • Actively monitor onboarding pipeline and ticket queues, and ensure that all requests are handled in accordance with Shorelight’s service delivery standards
  • Work collaboratively with the other Operations team leads on facilities, project management and process improvement and tracking.
  • Create, document, and publish processes and knowledgebase articles for internal and external reference
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all levels of technical issues to onsite and remote users
  • Maintain familiarity with current and upcoming technology trends in mobile, desktop OS, etc.
  • Make continual improvements to support processes and procedures to improve response times, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate high degrees of skill and tact in the areas of teamwork and interpersonal relationships, including highly effective oral, written, and listening communication skills
  • Maintain and develop strong technical expertise in key technologies used within the company, including but not limited to operating systems, browsers, Zoom, Office 365, Okta, and similar technology

 

Relationship Management

  • Partner closely with and provide feedback to Engineering and Product teams to understand product functions and potential areas of improvement
  • Work closely with Human Resources team to ensure smooth onboarding for our global team members
  • Be the face of the technical support organization that creates an environment that fosters and promotes trust, accessibility, and subject matter expertise across all tiers of the company and in all products and services

 Tracking & Analytics   

  • Track and monitor ticket workflows and resolution times
  • Provide reports and ticket analysis to the Product team and other internal stakeholders
  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate current scope of services and customer satisfaction to identify and continually improve the customer journey and experience
  • Identify trends and potential opportunities for training or product improvements

 Budgeting 

  • Responsible for the overall supply and laptop budget for the company, including coordinating purchases with global teams
  • Work with Human Resources team to understand annual hiring trends and forecasts for proper asset planning and budgeting
  • Maintain current inventory/asset tracking system of all computer hardware and software and their owners

 People Management 

  • Attract, develop, and retain team members to ensure productivity and engagement
  • Engage in talent management activities such as goal setting, performance evaluations, development planning, and ongoing feedback to develop team members and achieve organization goals
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and corrective action (when necessary) to team members
  • Foster a culture that reflects Shorelight’s values

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience in IT or a related field, with a strong background in operating systems, desktop support, security, networking, system administration, programming and scripting, and other IT technology areas
  • Deep familiarity with Windows 10 and Mac OSX operating systems as well as a broad suite of cloud-based and SAAS applications in a business environment

Essential Functions  

Information Security  

  • Develop and maintain cloud security controls and best practices
  • Deploy security automation and develop tools to secure the cloud
  • Build and maintain an internal security library that outlines security controls and identifies common security flaws
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and mitigate and patch based on findings
  • Develop automated security testing to ensure secure coding best practices are being used
  • Prepare critical and regular security releases
  • Setup tools and sensors to detect various attacks and exploitation techniques targeted towards cloud platforms and applications running within them
  • Create and conduct risk evaluations for new processes, products, and services
  • Develop, facilitate, and distribute security training modules corresponding security materials

 

Engineering   

  • Maintain Docker container and Kubernetes security, including pod-security and network security policies
  • Support the DevOps and Engineering teams in developing infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD, GitHub, etc.
  • Manage security across various Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools/products such as, VPCs, Flowlog, CloudTrail, S3, Route53, Elb, CloudFront, and WAF
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Product teams to suggest improvements that increase application security

Minimum Qualifications  

  • 7+ years of formalized information security experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years’ experience
  • Information Security certifications in CISSP, SANS GIAC, CISA, etc.
  • Experience managing security vendors and managed-services providers
  • Strong understanding of network and web related protocols (such as, TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
  • Working familiarity with Cyber Security, Cloud Platform Security, Risk Assessment, Network Security, IAM, Data Security, and Data Governance
  • Ability to occasionally provide weekend and after-hours support  

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science or related field
  • Strong background in technical engineering and architecture, such as infrastructure/cloud engineering or software development

Essential Functions

Salesforce Administration

  • Monitor, triage, and address incoming user requests using the IT Support Portal
  • Configure and maintain custom objects, page layouts, data validation rules, custom workflows, approval processes and installed packages
  • Manage data imports, database de-duping, and cleanup
  • Manage the integration of applications connected to SFDC, including but not limited to Marketo, Conga, Adobe Sign, In-house Admissions Portal, and FormAssembly
  • Engage with business stakeholders (SFDC users and integration systems users) to gather and analyze requirements as well as to propose solutions that leverage SFDC functionality
  • Translate approved solutions into actionable deliverables within the respective systems, ensuring high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency
  • Manage new releases of SFDC and efficiently roll out new features from testing through production
  • Create and maintain user roles, profiles, and hierarchies
  • Maintain systems security by sharing rules and security levels with end users
  • Monitor usage and mentor users or groups needing assistance
  • Develop process documentation and field maps

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Salesforce administration experience
  • Salesforce Administrator ADM-201 certification
  • In-depth knowledge of the standard capabilities of SFDC
  • Experience with SFDC integration with external systems
  • Strong reporting background using standard reporting tools

Job Overview 

The Desktop Support Specialist delivers direct, end-to-end technology support to Shorelight employees while providing excellent levels of service and support to the Shorelight community. This position acts as a first-line technical support contact for our global team.   

Essential Functions  

Technical 

  • Maintain and develop strong technical expertise in key technologies in use within Shorelight, which includes areas such as operating systems, browsers, conference room A/V , Zoom, Office 365 Suite (O365 Admin, Outlook, Teams etc), Okta + Okta Admin, and the like

  • Help maintain a current inventory/asset system of all computer hardware and software 

Support & Customer Service 

  • Actively monitor onboarding pipeline and ticket queues, and ensure that all requests are handled in accordance with Shorelight service delivery standards 
  • Escalate tickets proactively to responsible senior team members or specialists 
  • Demonstrate high degrees of skill and tact in the areas of teamwork and interpersonal relationships, including highly effective oral, written, and listening communication skills 
  • Assume other duties as required  

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 2–4 years of experience in IT or a related field, with a strong background in operating systems, desktop support, security, networking, system administration, programming and scripting, and other IT technology areas 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Familiarity with Windows 10 and Mac OSX operating systems as well as a broad suite of cloud-based and SAAS applications in a business environment 
  • Strong technical, multitasking, and interpersonal skills  
  • Eligibility to work in, and travel freely to and from, the United States without sponsorship 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field  
  • Previous support or customer service experience or training
