Job Overview

The Studio Manager will act as technical lead for the Stanford and UC Berkeley Live production environment. The Studio Manager will produce, direct, facilitate and support all Live course offerings and other related productions and serve as a live support resource for presenters during all broadcasts.  Based remotely in California, she, he or they will collaborate with Shorelight staff, partners, contractors, and vendors, to ensure full functionality of hardware, software, audio/visual equipment, and curriculum.

Essential Functions

Technical Support

  • Manage software and hardware deployments, implementing patches and performing other maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and resolution of audio/visual technical issues
  • Manage the broadcast platform and preform administrative tasks for production readiness
  • Support live productions, including various production roles as needed

Program Management

  • Work with instructional design to ensure content is up to date (knowledge of LMS, ability to work with faculty)
  • Train faculty and staff in the usage of the studio environment
  • Manage the timing and loading of curricula, and the updating of lesson plans in coordination with instructional design team and faculty
  • Interact with operational personnel before, during, and after events

Course Host Support

  • Appear as an on-camera host for demos and orientations as needed
  • Provide on-camera support for faculty and presenters in “co-host” role

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS and 3+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience with higher education instruction
  • Ability to travel to both the Berkeley and Stanford Campuses
  • Comfortable with working unconventional hours including evenings and weekends
  • Familiarity with the principles and basic technologies of live video broadcasting
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Teaching, presenting, public speaking
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated customer service experience

Job Overview

The Studio Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the UMass Boston Global broadcast studios. The Studio Operator oversees the technical operation of the studio and updates academic and demonstration materials to ensure they are accurate at the time of broadcast.  She or he collaborates with UMass Boston Global staff, partners, contractors, and vendors to ensure full functionality and regular updating of hardware, software, audio/visual equipment, and curriculum. Essential Functions

Broadcast Operations

  • Operate broadcast studio for academic courses and demonstrations, ensuring proper configuration of equipment and software prior to each broadcast
  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio/visual technical issues, liaising with vendors and engineers as necessary
  • Manage the broadcast platform and preform administrative tasks for production readiness

Reporting to the Director of Transnational Operations, the Regional Student Operations Manager supports the Shorelight Live program that offers hybrid master’s degree and certificate programs that combine the traditional, immersive U.S. university residential experience with technology-enabled, in-country, live-lecture learning. The Regional Student Operations Manager is a student services professional that is responsible for liaising with partner universities, launching new global study centers, and managing on-site program coordinators across multiple cities in India to ensure student success.   

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage professional relationships with Indian university and corporate partners
  • Work with academic, student services, and technical delivery teams to implement new programs both in India and in Qatar as needed
  • Oversee the launch and operations of new global study centers
  • Manage local program coordinators and perform frequent site visits to monitor student activity
  • Design and implement extra-curricular activities for students specific to each program
  • Actively review student survey processes and analyze results to meet corporate goals
  • Lead demo operations for the program and support other student recruitment events
  • Negotiate and manage local vendor agreements
  • Manage relationships with students in our Executive Education programs
  • Plan, implement, and run orientation for new students
  • Attend conferences and networking events to represent and market the program
  • Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 6+ years of full-time work experience in a related field; experience in education management preferred

This position is based in Shanghai and directly reports to the Vice President, International Development.

  • Coordination, run down, and presentation of demos from Global Studios

Other Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with R&D to develop new technologies and to develop and execute test sequence
  • Studio support for Live studios as needed, on call, and backup

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
  • 5+ years of experience in the educational industry
  • 5+ years of educational technology experience
  • 3+ years of broadcast or live AV production experience

Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Executive Education, is responsible for achieving enrollment targets for Shorelight Live Executive Education programs. This role encompasses a number of core responsibilities, including conversion of leads generated by various demand-generation campaigns, direct and targeted outreach to prospects acquired through referral campaigns, presentations at events that promote executive education programs, direct engagement with the HR or training departments of large employers (with sizeable internal training budgets). 

This position is based in a Tier 1 city in China, and directly reports to Shorelight’s Vice President – International Development, based in Boston, USA.

Essential Functions

Lead Conversion  

  • Work closely with local marketing teams to convert leads generated by various online marketing campaigns, as well as leads resulting from in-person activities at expos or events
  • Work with prospective students from early stage (‘leads’) to successful enrollment in their desired executive program
  • Grow revenue through the development of profitable channels such as agent and institutional relationships in line with the agreed sales and marketing strategy
  • Utilizing Salesforce CRM system, establish, monitor, and report on goals, milestones, and KPIs that enable Shorelight to track toward its program bookings goals
  • Work closely with other Shorelight functions to ensure a smooth student transition to enrollment, including various handoff points to Admissions, Enrollment Services, Account Managers of channel partners and local universities, Boston HQ, and other Shorelight University partners

B2B Relationships 

  • Leverage existing networks of contacts relevant to identifying and enrolling executives into high-end professional programs
  • Use online, telephone and face-to-face communications, to identify and sell into prospective executive associations and networks, and to nurture good relationships with potential students
  • Promote single and multi-participant training packages for executives employed by leading technology employers (as well as other firms with an internal focus on AI training for executives)

Business Development 

  • Engage with the most senior executive levels (Director, General Manager, Vice-President, C-suite) of prospective clients
  • Working closely with the Marketing team, plan and implement relevant sales and marketing campaigns throughout the market via on-line and off-line events, including agent engagement events, corporate events, training, organization-partnership events, and social and digital media campaigns

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, HR or similar
  • 8+ years of sales and marketing experience with HR Learning and Development divisions or within the education industry

The Director, Live Technical Operations, supports Shorelight Live, which offers immersive distance learning programs through technology-enabled, in-country, live-lecture learning. The Director is responsible for the end-to-end technical operations of Shorelight Live’s global network of smart classrooms and studios, including new site implementation, daily studio and classroom technical operations and support, maintenance and updates, and disaster recovery protocols. The Director also oversees projects while establishing and managing vendor relationships across multiple domestic and international partnerships. Reporting to the General Manager, the Director works closely with the technology function, collaborating with other departments to ensure high-quality and timely roll-out of new projects as well as the optimization of existing live lecture processes.

Essential Functions

  • Develop a scaled process to build new smart classrooms and smart studios with a focus on resilience, simplicity, and consistency
  • Perform technical and logistical site evaluations for new classroom and studio locations
  • Be available for up to 50% domestic and international travel with minimal advanced notice
  • Work with the engineering team to refine bill of materials for classroom and studio technology hardware and make regional and product version-related adjustments as necessary
  • Manage existing technical vendors and identify new integration partners across several international locations; negotiate vendor contracts
  • Manage global inventory of classroom and studio hardware, and identify opportunities to optimize the procurement and site delivery process
  • Develop and maintain classroom technical support strategies and protocols, including network, software, and hardware support
  • Coordinate and manage releases of new hardware and software, including deployment of approved features and evidence of proper release protocols
  • Manage a team of regional technical specialists and train regional staff to successfully operate classrooms
  • Develop and document business and service continuity protocols for the product and train appropriate staff
  • Develop and deliver technical support KPIs for classrooms and studios
  • Create monthly technology performance reports
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to contribute to overall product roadmap; identify opportunities for feature optimization and performance stability
  • Prepare monthly technical performance reports for all sites
  • Represent the product in business development meetings, recruitment events, conferences, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of IT management experience (director level or above)
