Job Overview

The Program Coordinator supports the Shorelight Live American Collegiate Program, which provides first year, US curriculum to students in their home countries in partnership with US universities.  The Live technology offers hybrid higher education programs that combine the immersive U.S. university experience with technology-enabled, in-country, live-lecture learning.  The position will facilitate live classes through the operation of interactive technology, coordination across remote program management teams, and develop and support student services.

Essential Functions

Operations

  • Coordinate with local operations team to provide technical support during live lectures
  • Participate in recruitment demo preparation, testing, and setup, and facilitate day of demo operations as needed
  • Contribute to student services operations to ensure that systems and procedures are followed and technology is used to streamline system and procedures
  • Troubleshoot student learning experience issues in real time during live lectures. Escalate and follow through to resolution as necessary
  • Participate in the student services and operational build of new programs
  • Provide support to the studio team with operations, case escalation, and student communication
  • Audit live lecture sessions and facilitate classroom activities as needed
  • Participate in technology testing as necessary

Student Services & Relationship Management

  • Deliver exceptional students services, beginning with pre-arrival processes and communication, orientation programming, ongoing students service support, and acculturation into the US University culture
  • Manage student success by actively monitoring student engagement and providing feedback to program teams
  • Foster community-building among students by organizing and executing activities and events both online and in person
  • Manage relationships with faculty, academic teams, and engineering to ensure the success of all live lectures
  • Manage communication to students about program preparation, changes to schedule, and technology updates
  • Guide, prepare, and motivate students to a successful completion of AC Live
  • Lead special projects in collaboration with university partners
  • Provide language support as necessary
  • Provide other student services as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual Arabic and English speaker, with professional proficiency in English required (preferably IELTS 7.0, TOEFL 90+)
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of full-time work experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours, depending on class and demo schedule
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in higher education advising, student services, customer service, or hospitality
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills to work with students, parents, program staff, and faculty
  • Energetic and motivated professional with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Eligibility to work in UAE without sponsorship

Job Overview

The Director of Live Instructional Design is an experienced professional who is passionate about building innovative products to meet the U.S. higher education aspirations of international students. The Director is responsible for overseeing the instructional development of new programs and courses and supporting existing programs and courses. The ideal candidate combines interpersonal skills for working with partner faculty with the tactical discipline to design, build, and deliver outstanding programs and courses within the Live technical platform. This role reports to the Vice President of Live Instructional Technology and requires the ability to work well cross-functionally, as well as with external parties.

Key Responsibilities

Program Definition and Documentation

  • Produce high-level program and course definition documents in collaboration with partner universities, faculty, and staff
  • Elicit and document Program, Course, and Lesson Outcomes
  • Other documentation as required

Course Instructional Design and Build

  • Develop and oversee the development of course design in collaboration with faculty
  • Collect, produce, and/or refine materials as required for ingesting into the Shorelight Live technical platform, including slides, lesson plans, textbooks, syllabi, interactive elements
  • Build and oversee the building of courses in Canvas and UCommons

Academic Partner and Faculty Support

  • Develop and deliver faculty orientation and training
  • Manage the support of teaching faculty in Shorelight Live programs
  • Represent Shorelight Live as instructional design lead for faculty

Managing Outsource Vendors

  • Direct the work and workflow of third-party contractors for course development, language support, textbook and other contributors

Process Development and Documentation

  • Develop and manage templates for course materials
  • Improve workflow and communications for scaling course development processes
  • Faculty training and orientation development

Other Responsibilities

  • Budgeting and expense management and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
  • Demonstrated success in establishing processes and continuously improving upon them
  • Proficiency with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Existing network and relationships within the international education industry, strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs and products

The Global Classroom Technical Support Specialist will support Shorelight Live, which offers immersive distance learning programs through technology-enabled, in-country, live-lecture learning for China including classes in Shanghai, Beijing, Xian, Chengdu and Shenzhen.

Essential Functions

Technical Support
